This weekend will be the busiest to date in the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championships with no fewer than twelve games on the hectic programme which, for the first time, features Friday evening action.

The distinction of playing in the first Friday evening Championship game will go to Carlow and Laois when they meet in Dr. Cullen Park in the opening round of the GAA Football All-Ireland qualifiers. It's one of eight first round games spread across a weekend which also hosts one Ulster, one Connacht (replay) and two Leinster semi-finals.

CAVAN v MONAGHAN, CLONES, SATURDAY, 7.00pm
This will be their first clash in the Ulster championship since 2001 when Cavan won a semi-final by 0-13 to 0-11 in Clones. Prior to that, they met in 1995 when Cavan also won by two points. Cavan last reached the Ulster final in 2001 where they lost to Tyrone while Monaghan last reached the decider in 2010 when they also lost to Tyrone.

How they got here....
Cavan have two wins behind them, beating Armagh by 1-15 to 1-11 and Fermanagh by 0- 13 to 0-11. Monaghan beat Antrim by 0-11 to 0-6. Cavan's Martin Dunne scored 0-9 (0-
from open play) against Armagh and 0-5 (0-3 from open play) against Fermanagh. Monaghan led Antrim by a point at half-time in their quarter-final and won the second half by 0-6 to 0-2.

MEATH v WEXFORD, CROKE PARK, SUNDAY 2.00pm
It's not one of the busier Leinster rivalries - if fact, this will be only the seventh Leinster championship clash between the counties in the last fifty years and only the fourth in the last thirty years.

They last clashed in the Leinster championship in 2008 when Wexford won a remarkable contest by 2-14 to 2-13. Meath led by 2-8 to 0-4 at half-time but Wexford battled back in great style to edge to victory by a point.

How they got here....
Wexford pulled off a fine 'away' win over Louth in Drogheda, edging to victory by a point 2-13 to 1-15. They led by five points at half-time. Ciarán Lyng (1-3) and Ben Brosnan (0-5) were top scorers for Wexford.

Meath had a five-point win over Wicklow in Aughrim on a day when Wicklow missed a penalty and conceded a goal seconds later near the end of the first half. Michael Newman (0-5) and Graham Reilly (0-4) were top scorers for Meath.

Did You Know

That Wexford, who last won the Leinster Football title in 1945, reached the finals in 2008 and 2011 where they lost to Dublin.

That Meath are seeking to reach successive Leinster finals for the first time in the new Millennium.

DUBLIN v KILDARE, CROKE PARK, SUNDAY 4.00pm
Dublin are seeking a fourth successive championship win over Kildare, having beaten them in 2011-2009-2002. Kildare's last win over Dublin was in the 2000 Leinster final replay.

Dublin are seeking to reach the final for the eighth time in nine seasons, having missed
only once in 2010 when they lost the semi-final to Meath. Kildare last reached the final in
2009 when they lost to Dublin by three points
Dublin and Kildare clashed in the Allianz Football League in Croke Park on March 10 last when Dublin won by 2-20 to 2-7. Dublin led by 0-11 to 1-6 at half-time before completely dominating the second half (2-9 to 1-1). Bernard Brogan (1-5), Ciarán Kilkenny (0-4) and Jack McCaffrey (1-1) were Dublin's top scorers while Seanie Johnston (1-2) was top scorer for Kildare.

Dublin beat Westmeath by 1-22 to 0-9 in the quarter-final while Kildare beat Offaly by 0-19 to 1-12. Bernard Brogan (0-7, 0-5 frees), Paddy Andrews (1-3), Paul Flynn and Diarmuid Connolly (0-3 each) were top scorers for Dublin while Johnny Doyle (0-6, 0-4 frees), Niall Kelly, Paul Cribbin and Eoghan O'Flaherty (0-4 each) were Kildare's main marksmen.

LEITRIM v LONDON, DR. HYDE PARK, SUNDAY, 3.40pm
It's back to Roscommon for a replay as Leitrim and London continue their battle to book a place in the final against Mayo. Leitrim scored two late points to clinch a draw in Carrick- on-Shannon last Sunday. It's the first time that London will be playing in a replay in Connacht as any of their first round games that finished level over the years went to extra- time. Leitrim's last replay in the Connacht championship was in 2004 when they lost a Connacht semi-final to Roscommon.

How they got here...
Leitrim beat New York by 4-19 to 0-7 while London beat Sligo by 1-12 to 0-14. Leitrim and
London drew (0-13 to 2-7) last Sunday.

They meet for a second successive year in the qualifiers. Laois won by 1-10 to 0-9 in Portlaoise last year, which was the start of a great run for Justin McNulty's men. Laois beat Monaghan (2-12 to 0-12), Leitrim (1-13 to 1-11) and Meath (1-15 to 1-12) in the next three rounds before losing to Dublin by 1-12 to 0-12 in the All-Ireland quarter-final.

OFFALY v TYRONE, TULLAMORE, SATURDAY, 3.0opm
A first championship meeting between the counties. Tyrone have done very well in the qualifiers over the years, winning both the 2005 and 2008 All-Ireland titles after being beaten in the Ulster championship. They were beaten by Kerry (1-16 to 1-6) in Round 3 last year while Offaly exited in Round 1, beaten by Tipperary (1-12 to 0-10).

LOUTH v ANTRIM, DROGHEDA, SATURDAY 3.00pm
It's their first championship meeting since the 1909 All-Ireland semi-final when Louth beat Antrim in the All-Ireland semi-final. Louth exited the qualifiers in Round 1 last year, beaten by 1-15 to 0-12 while Antrim beat London (2-11 to 2-9) and Galway (0-11 to 0-10) to reach Round 3 where they lost to Tipperary on a scoreline of 0-10 to 0-8.

WESTMEATH v FERMANAGH, MULLINGAR, 3.00pm
They meet in the qualifiers for the first time since 2002 when Fermanagh won by 0-14 to 0- 7 in Mullingar. Westmeath lost to Louth (1-15 to 0-12) in the first round of last year's qualifiers, a stage where Fermanagh also exited, losing by 3-13 to 0-15 to Cavan.

LONGFORD v LIMERICK, GLENNON BROTHERS, PEARSE PARK, SATURDAY, 7.00pm
They meet for the second successive year, having clashed in the qualifiers last season when Limerick won by 1-21 to 1-15 in extra time in Longford. Longford beat Derry by 0-17 to 2-8 in the first round. Limerick lost to Kildare by a point in extra-time in Round 3.

GALWAY v TIPPERARY, PEARSE STADIUM, SATURDAY, 7.00pm
It's the first championship clash between the counties since 1902 when Tipperary beat Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final. Galway were beaten by Antrim (0-11 to 0-10) in the Round 2 qualifiers last year while Tipperary beat Offaly (1-12 to 1-10), Wexford (1-13 to 0-15) and Antrim (0-10 to 0-8) before losing to Down by 1-13 to 0-11 in Round 4.

ARMAGH v WICKLOW, ATHELTIC GROUNDS, SUNDAY 3.00pm
They meet in the qualifiers for the third time in three seasons. They drew after extra-time (Wicklow 2-13 Armagh 0-19) in the Athletic Grounds in 2011 before Armagh won the replay by 2-9 to 0-10 in Aughrim a week later. Armagh lost to Roscommon (1-11 to 1-9) in the first round last year while Wicklow beat Waterford in extra time (1-17 to 0-15) before losing to Leitrim (0-13 to 0-10) in the second round.

DERRY v SLIGO, OWENBEG, SUNDAY 5.00pm
They meet for the first time in the Championship. Derry lost to Longford (0-17 to 2-8) in the first round last year while Sligo, who reached the Connacht final, lost to Kildare (0-13 to 0- 4) in Round 4.
