The culmination of the Sligo hurling season will be the senior championship
final between local rivals Calry St. Joseph’s and Coolera-Strandhill which takes
place in Markievicz Park on Sat. next Oct. 5th. at 4pm. While Calry will start as
favourites to retain their title this is expected to be a closely-contested match by
two teams who have faced off against each other very frequently in recent years.
What the Coolera young team may lack in big match experience is sure to be offset
by their hard work and effort. We wish both teams success in this championship final.
We also encourage all hurling fans throughout the county of all ages to come along
and provide support and colour on the day for both teams.
