Geevagh NS hosted a very enjoyable “Black and White Day” on
Friday last. The event was organised to raise funds for the on-going student
coaching scheme. Special guest was Sligo and Connaught great Micheal Kearins.
Micheal faced a gruelling question and answer session conducted by the senior
students, but as in his playing days, the Dromard maestro conducted himself
with poise and grace.
The u-8 and u-10s take to the field on Wednesday eveining.
The opposition will be provided by our neighbours St Michaels. The game will
take place at Pairc Ailbhe at 6:30pm. Players should assemble at the dressing
rooms at 6pm. Many thanks to miss Una Clarke who has now concluded her term of
employment at Geevagh NS. Una was an integral part of our u-8 and u-10 coaching team during this
period.
Our senior ladies play St Brendans of Claremorris in the
Connaught League at the centre of excellence in Ballyhaunis on Tuesday at 7pm.
Best of luck to all concerned.
Our u-12 and u-16 girls suffered defeat last week while our
u-14 boys had a good win over Castleconnor. Our u-12 boys open their league
campaign this week when they travel to St Johns.
