Congratulations to the Drumcliffe-Rosses Point U14 hurling team on qualifying for the first time in their short hurling history for the Feile competition which will take place in late June and is being hosted this year by the Ulster Province GAA.
Three teams contested the U14 Feile hurling blitz on Sat. last at Kent Park – Drumcliffe-Rosses Point, Naomh Eoin and Coolera-Strandhill. The first match between Drumcliffe and Naomh Eoin was fairly evenly contested for much of the time but Drumcliffe’s overall strength saw them through in the end. The second match between Naomh Eoin and Coolera-Strandhill was also fairly evenly contested throughout but the Naomh Eoin lads tacked on the scores in the end to emerge victorious. In the final match between Drumcliffe and Coolera the first half was very closely contested but in the second half the Drumcliffe lads ran in a number of goals to seal outright victory and the right to represent Sligo at this year’s Feile.
If a second team from Sligo is allowed to partake in this year’s competition then this will be Naomh Eoin.
