Congratulations to Pat Hughes, Shane McManus and the Sligo Senior team qualified for the next phase in the All Ireland Championship with a victory over Limerick in Markievicz Park. Both Geevagh lads raised white flags and were influential in this thrilling victory.

Commiserations to Bernice Byrne, Stephanie O Reilly, Elaine O Reilly, Sinead McTiernan, Emma Cullen and Sarah Reynolds who were members of the Sligo ladies team defeated by Leitrim in the Connaught Intermediate final last week.

The U-8s and U-10s play in Bunninaden on Wed evening at 7pm. Players should be assembled at the venue by 6.30. Please note, due to the large numbers currently on holidays, next Friday’s tournament semi-finals and final have been postponed until further notice.     

The club extend its deepest sympathies to the Cunnane family, Caltragh, on the death of Mrs Bridget Cunnane. The Cunnane family have been loyal supporters for many years, and former chairman Pat, has served the club at all levels.

Our sympathies are also extended to the Dwyer family on the death of Mrs Brigid Dwyer. Mrs Dwyers sons Padraic and Michael have been playing members of our cub, and Padraic has also been a member of the executive.
