St Michaels played Shamrock Geals on Saturday evening last and lost out to a last minute goal to the geals. It was a very close and enteraining game throughtout. Training as usual this week for details of upcoming fixtures please check sligogaa.ie

Our player of the match in last week’s under 10’s game versus Coolaney was Kyle Davey who showed exceptional skill, and a great ability to bring other players into the game with precise passing. Also good for the green and white was Emma Hynes who showed her versatility in playing equally well at full forward and full back.
Our recent Cúl Camp was a great success with 69 players aged 5 to 12 taking part. Our thanks to the very popular coaches, and of course most importantly the players who took part.
Sunday June 16th saw the inaugural hosting of the P.J. Linnane Cup at Ballintogher between the three primary schools in our catchment area. The large crowd of spectators were treated to an excellent display of schools football. First Ballintogher and Kilross schools played off for the right to play Sooey in the final. After a hard fought game Ballintogher eventually came out the victors, and went on to have an equally hard game against a strong Sooey team in which they were also winners by a margin of just 2 points. Congratulations to all players who took part, and thanks to Joe Hynes for being the man in black for both games.
The family of the late P.J. Linnane were present to enjoy the spectacle, and afterwards, medals, trophies and the cup were presented to the players by David Linnane
