Well done to the Junior team who had a great 4-5 to 1-8 win over Coolera/Strandhill in the first round of the Championship last Sunday.

 

The Intermediate team are out in the Championship next Saturday taking on Bunninadden at 6PM in Ballymote – please support.

 

The Minor team take on Bunninadden at home in the B Championship this Thursday at 7PM.

 

The U16 team take on Owenmore Gaels at home this Monday in the A Championship at 7PM.

 

The U14 team get their A Championship underway this Friday with a home game against Tubbercurry at 7PM.

 

The U12 team overcame Curry in an exciting game in Coola last Tuesday. The Gaels were leading for most of the game and were in control but Curry put up an excellent challenge and took the lead going into the last few minutes. The Gaels, to their credit, upped their performance and scored four unanswered points to run out winners on a scoreline of 0-15 to 0-12. The team was: Adam Kearns, Aaron McKenna, Kealon Brehony, Darragh Heffernan, Jason Kilkenny, Johnny Kenny, Eoin Dywer, Conor Kearns, Lee Deignan, Andrew McGrievy, Patrick Barrett, Charlie Mullen, Cathal Jinks, Shane Dywer, Aodhan Eivers, David Barlow.

 

Well done to the Sligo U16 team and Gaels players Enda O'Connell, Daire Kearns, Darragh Hailstones and Daniel Murphy on a great win over Offaly in the Fr Manning Cup final last week.

 

The club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Eugene O'Connor, Bloomfield who died last week. Eugene was a formidable corner back in his day – lining out for Sooey and captained the team in 1965 when Sooey won the Foley Cup. Ar Dheis De go raibh a anam.
