Our senior team secured a spot in the quarter finals of the championship following an exciting 3-07 to 2-08 win against Coolaney/Mullinabreena  in Connolly Park Collooney on Saturday last . For the second game in succession Gaels produced an excellent second half display having trailed by six points just five minutes before half time. Goals from minor players Gerard Brady and Cathal Herron and a third from veteran Martin Feeney saw Jimmy Langans side overcome a tough challenge from Coolaney/Mullinabreena. Team: C Laughlin, J Brennan, G Gilsennan, C Watters, A Carway, J Kelly, D Kelly, D Fallon, C  Burns (0-1), J Brennan, M Quinn (cpt)(0-2), K Waters, M Feeney(1-3), J McLaughlin, G Brady(1-0), Subs: C Herron (1-0), N McLaughlin(0-1), Gaels finish second in Group 2 just behind Coolera/Strandhill and will now focus on an upcoming quarter final fixture.

Our U16  Boys A squad were well beaten by an excellent Eastern Harps side in the championship last week but there was better luck  for our U14C squad  when they defeated  St Michaels 3-04 to 2-02 on Friday last. This week the C squad are away to Castleconnor on Wed 27th at 7.00pm while on the same evening the A squad are away to Curry.

This Tuesday 26th our Minor boys are at home to Coolaney/Mullinabreena in the championship at 7.00pm.

On Wednesday last our U16 Girls turned in a terrific display away to Ballymote in the C championship emerging winners by seven points. The defence were outstanding throughout with Andrea Kenny and Hiliary Francis excelling. Cliona McGowan dominated at midfield while in attack Lisa Flynn gave a great display and contributed a number of vital scores.

Club Representatives will be calling to houses in the locality seeking support for our major fundraising initiative to complete work on the development of an underage pitch at Monsignor Hynes Park. We are selling 500 plots at 100 euro each on our new pitch and the names of all purchasers will be recorded on a  plaque adjacent to the new pitch. The support of everyone for this venture would be greatly appreciated.
