The U12 Hurlers captured the clubs first U12 A Hurling title last Tuesday, building on the success of the U12 B victory in 2013. In a very close match vs Naomh Eoin the game served up a very high standard of hurling and entertained the large crowd in Markievicz Pk. Naomh Eoin opened the scoring but it was nip and tuck throughout the first half and despite losing our captain Ryan Gallagher through injury the score at half time was 5pts apiece. In a tightly fought second half where the DRP defensive was resolute but could do nothing to stop the unerring accuracy of the Naomh Eoin free taking, the overall strength and scoring power of DRP was decisive. Many of the players were on the team which captured the clubs first Feile title earlier this year and this experienced helped them to pull away in the closing stages to win 10pts to 7pts.   The team included Oisin McGloin, Michael Broders, Senan O’ Rourke, Augusine Waters, Daniel O’ Connor, Tola Caraway, Ryan Gallagher, Ciaran O’ Reilly, Danny Cronin, Evan Ballaintine, Ian O’ Brien, Sean Leonard & Paul O’ Brien.

The Senior Men had a convincing seven point victory over Curry in the play-off on Sunday evening in Tubbercurry. Final score was 2-12 to 1-8. We now progress to the quarter final stage where we will take on St. Mary’s on Sunday 14th at 5.30pm in Markievicz Park.
