The minor team booked a place in the A2 minor Final following a great win against Curry in St. Farnan`s Park on Thursday last.This was a terrific game of football which saw both sides take the lead at different stages during the match. At half time Curry led by 1-8 to 1-6. St. Farnan`s levelled the match early in the second half but Curry scored a number of points to lead by five. St. Farnan`s made some positional changes and this led to the team scoring three goals. At the full time whistle the score read St. Farnan`s 4-13, Curry 2-16.
The team was K. Devaney, C. Gillen, F. Ryan, P. Flynn, T. Kilgannon (1-0), C. Gordon, C. Murray (0-1), F. Cawley (1-7), E. Kilgannon, G. Calpin (0-2), N. Crean, J. Weir (1-0), P. O`Connor (1-3). Sub: M. Devaney.
The team will face Tourlestrane in the final.
The under 14 team had an easy win over St. Mary`s in the A2 championship in St. Farnan`s Park on Friday last.The score was St. Farnan`s 7-16, St. Mary`s 0-6. The team will play Tourlestrane in the next round on Friday, Sept. 26th.
The under 16 team bowed out of this year`s championship when they lost the semi final to Owenmore Gaels in Connolly park on Monday last. The score was Owenmore Gaels 1-13, St. Farnan`s 1-9.St. Farnan`s battled hard throughout the game but could not penetrate the Gaels defence. At half time St. Farnan`s scored !-5 including a penalty scored by Patrick O`Connor. Owenmore Gaels replied to the penalty with a goal  and at half time they led 1-7 to 1-5.St. Farnan`s started well in the second half scoring three points without reply. Both defences worked well  for a time but Owenmore Gaels took the advantage and scored a number of points to earn a victory.

Well done to the under 14 and under 16 hurlers on winning both championship A finals this week. Good luck to the under 14 hurlers who will play with Sligo in Ballyhaunis on Saturday next.
