Our Senior men advanced to the Belfry Senior Football Championship semi final on Sunday evening last, when they overcame South Sligo neighbours, Coolaney/Mullinabreena. Having got off to a slow start and going 3 points down within the first 10 minutes, Gary Gaughan got our team off the mark with a point in the 12th minute. This point was followed by three more points, without reply, from Stephen Henry, Gerry McGowan and Cathal Henry. The latter putting the team in front for the first time in the 21st minute. Coolaney/Mullinabreena finished the half strong scoring 3 further points and went in at half time leading by the minimum, 0-6 to 0-5. The second half started slow but excellent defending and two points and a penalty conversion from Pat Harte got the team back on track. The game was closed out with two further points from Gary Gaughan and scores coming off the boot of John Marren and Brian Egan. The game ended on a scoreline of 1-14 to 0-09.The 8 point win secured our Senior team a Sligo Senior Championship Semi Final game against close neighbours, Tubbercurry. The game will take place on the weekend of the 27th/28th of September.

Our Senior Hurlers had a 3-11 to 1-9 win over Cluainin Iomaint last week in the semi final of the Dermot Molloy League. The team are back in championship action this Saturday, the 20th of Sept., when they take on Western Gaels in the County Championship Semi Final. The game is part of a double header and takes place in Toulestrane at 5pm with the other semi final preceding it. 

Well done to our Minors who booked their place in the Minor A2 Championship final where they will face St.Farnan's. The team overcame Coolaney/Mullinabreena on a score of 4-11 to 0-12 on Thursday last.

Our U-16 boys team take on Ballymote tonight (Monday the 15th of Sept.) at 6.15pm in Tourlestrane in the semi final of the championship. The club wishes the team and management the best of luck in the game. Your support would be greatly appreciated. 

Our U-14s also recorded a good win this week when they beat Coolera/Strandhill 4-16 to 1-12 in Tourlestrane on Friday night in round 4 of the championship.

Congratulations to all the students of the club who received their Junior Certificate results on Wednesday last.

Congratulations to all involved with the Ox Mountain Heritage and Outdoor Pursuits Center on being awarded Community Enterprise Award at the Sligo Business Award on Friday last.

The club would like to offer its condolences to the Henry family, Ballyara, on the death of Veronica's mother, Mary Kate Maye, Moylough. May she Rest in Peace.
