Our senior team took on Tubbercurry in the quarter final of the championship last Saturday  in Markievicz Park at. Despite a very good team display we were left to rue missed opportunities as Tubbercurry emerged winners by 2-10 to 0-13. Gaels were  impressive in the first period as the over came the concession of a rather soft goal to be within one point of their opponents at the interval. Another Tubber goal half way through the second period seemed to inspire Jimmy Langan's side to their best period in the game and they reduced the lead to a single point as the game reached a climax but Tubbercurry's greater experience saw then close out the game with two late points. Well done to the squad and mangement team on some excellent displays in this championship.

Congratulations to our young U9 Boys squad who won the Shield competition at the Aodh Ruadh tournament in Ballyshannon last Saturday overcoming the home club by 5 scores to 1 in the final having defeated Melvin Gaels, Manorhamilton and St Nauls earlier. The team played some excellent football under the guidance of Seamus Connolly and Brian McCaughey. Team: R Connolly, C Woods, J Gillen, M Burns, P Kerins, J McCaughey, P Kerins, P Gillen and C Nicholson.
