It was a great weekend for the Club with the Boys U14 and Girls U14 both winning their respective A Championships. The Boys were first up taking on Eastern Harps. The Gaels had a tough time in the first half playing against a strong breeze, however a Michael Barry goal just before half time gave them a lifeline. The Gaels burst out of the traps in the second half and 2 goals from Dylan Willis and one from Shane Deignan gave the Gaels a commanding lead mid-way through the half and eventually ran out winners on a scoreline of 4-9 to 1-12. The team was: Ultan McKenna, Adam King, Sean Carroll,  Shane McCann, Evan Lyons, Patrick Benson, Bryan Johnston, Seamus Hailstones (0-1), James Carroll (0-1), Dylan Willis (2-2), Daniel Lyons (0-1), Dillon McDermott (0-4), Michael Barry (1-0), Shane Deignan (1-0), Brendan Hailstones. Subs: Christian Monaghan, Paul Leyden, Killian Walsh, Ryan Brennan, Adrian Benson, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Eoin Dwyer, Dylan Mullen, Dylan Burke, Kian Johnston. Well done and thanks to the Management team of Glen McDermott, Rosario Johnston and Michael Tonry for their work with the team for the year.

The Girls started against Drumcliffe/Rosses Point playing with the wind, however some wayward shooting in the first half meant the Gaels went in a point down at half time. However just like the boys the Girls came out in the second half with a flurry and three quick goals gave them a commanding lead and they went on to win 4-5 to 1-6. The team was: Maeve McDermott, Lisa Callaghan, Aoife Morrisroe, Katy McCann, Katie Little, Jade Lyons (0-1), Lousie Merrick, Chloe McTiernan, Eba McCann, Roisin Kearns, Rachel Boyd (2-1), Erin Mullaney (1-1), Jane Benson (0-1), Keeva McDermott, Makayla McLoughlin (1-1) Subs: Ela McDermott (0-1), Mairead Tuohy, Aine Brennan, Leah Monaghan, Kate Buckley, Aine Kearns, Erin O’Sullivan, Isobel Clarke, Rachel Healy. Thanks to the Management team of Fiona Lyons and Aoife O’Connor for their work with the team this year.

The Senior team lost 3-15 to 1-10 to Collaney/Mullinabreena in the Div 2 promotion last Saturday. Thanks to Manager Paul O’Grady and his backroom team of Dessie Leonard, Mick Candon and Fergal White for their work with the team this year.

Well done to Alan Kelly who won a Minor Hurling Title last week with Naomh Eoin - Alan scored a goal in their win over Coolera/Strandhill.

There was no winner of the lotto this weekend – the numbers drawn were 6, 13, 24, 27 with two match 3 winners, Eamon McMunn and Aidan Shannon. The next draw is Saturday 8th November in Des McDonaghs with the jackpot at €2,000.

The club wish to express sympathy with Enda McKeon, Sooey on the death of his mother Lily McKeon, Geevagh and with Gemma Crossan on the death of her father Jim Crossan, Collooney recently.
