The club
mourns the loss of two long standing members who passed to their eternal reward
this week Oliver Spellman and Dinny Denis O Sullivan.
Oliver
Spellman, a Buninadden native, undertook many hours of voluntary work on the
club grounds when Kent Park became an all weather sand based pitch in the
nineties. He was a loyal supporter at many of our club successes over the
years.
Dinny O
Sullivan in his 99th year has been club vice president for many years. He had
huge interest in all aspects of the Club and was seen at practically all club
matches up until recent years. He originated from Ovens near Cork City and his
work with the Forestry Division Inspector brought him to Waterford, Wicklow,
Dublin and ultimately to Sligo. He played both hurling and football in his
youth and was a fluent Gaeilgeoir and promoted all aspects of Scor and cultural
activities in the club.
He took
particular pride in keeping the club grounds and environs in pristine shape and
kept various committees on their toes when it came to upholding rules and
regulations. We extend out deepest sympathies to both families. One minutes
silence was observed before all club matches over the weekend in their memory.
Condolances also to the O’Brien family and Calry/St
Joesphs on the death of Kevin O'Brien, who we were fortunate to have entertain
us on many an occasion in the clubhouse.

Well done to Peadar, TJ and John Lynch in the Final of
Ocean FM Sports Pole Position Quiz. They
displayed their in depth knowledge across the broad sports spectrum and pulled
some great answers out of the depths and at times thin air to overcome a strong
Ballygawley FC team by three points.
Thanks to the Crozon Inn and Ocean FM sport for their support of this
great initiative and we look forward to defending our title next year.
The U16’s continued their campaign with a game against
