It was a very successful week with our club recording
victories at all grades from U-10 to senior.
Our U-10 community games team had a fine win against Rosses
Point in a very exciting match played on Thursday last. The team has now
qualified for the semi-finals against Ballymote, which is scheduled to take
place in Geevagh this week.
The U-14 girls
secured their second league win with victory over C.T Gaels, while the U12
Girls have topped their group and qualified for a semi-final.
The U-14 boys
recorded an impressive victory over St. Michaels on Friday last and the U-12
boys are at home against Easky at 7.30 pm on Thursday.
The senior ladies impressed with a victory over Eastern Harps
at the week end. Their next fixture is against St. Michaels in Pairc Ailbhe on
Sunday morning next. Following the game we will hold an informal celebration in
the Resource Centre to recognise the contribution made by this club to the
recent Sligo ladies success. Highlights of the game against Waterford will be
screened and club members will have the opportunity to meet and congratulate
our team members. All supporters are welcome. Throw in time can be checked on
Facebook.
The senior footballers extended their unbeaten run to six
games when they overcame Easky in a very exciting match last Sunday. Our final
league opponents are Shamrock Gaels where victory would secure a place in the
league final.
The girls from
Geevagh N.S continued their preparation for the Cumman na Mbunscol semi-finals with
victory in a friendly against Corrigeenroe N.S. during the week.
Best wishes to all our players and supporters who face
Junior Cert, leaving cert and college examinations in the coming weeks.
The club would like
to extend best wishes for a speedy recovery to C.T. Gaels U-16 player Dearbhala
Ross who sustained an injury in Pairc Ailbhe during the week and also to our
own U-10 star John Corcoran who suffered a broken arm recently.
