There was no joy for the under 14 footballers on Friday last when they suffered a heavy defeat to Shamrock Gaels in the A league. The score was Shamrock Gaels 7-15, St. Farnan`s 1-5.The under 16 team was also defeated by Curry in the B league final in Scarden on Monday last. The score was Curry 3-12, St. Farnan`s 1-9.
The intermediate team were defeated by Castleconnor on Sunday last. St. Farnan`s started the match with two points from James Hynes.Even though the home side had wind advantage it was Castleconnor who dominated play and at half time led by 1-7 to 0-3. Castleconnor continued its domination in the second half and despite them losing a player to a red card ten minutes from the end St. Farnan`s could not bridge the gap.The final score was Castleconnor 1-16, St. Farnan`s 1-7.The team was F. Hargadon, D. Taylor,K. Hannon, J. Quinn, G. Feeney, P. Culkin(1-0),D. Hynes, C. Hallinan, G. Ryan,D. Culkin, J. Hynes(0-4(3f),F. Kilgannon,T. Kilgannon, K. Lang(0-1), S. Neary. Subs: M. The Junior team were narrowly defeated by Coolaney/ Mullinabreena in Templeboy on Tuesday last.This was a very competitive game with two evenly matched teams. St. Farnan`s led at half time by 1-7 to 1-6.They got a great start after the break with a goal from Matthew Lang and a point from Gavin . Coolaney however added a number of points and were also awarded a penalty. St. Farnan`s made some costly errors and missed valuable chances.At the final whistle Coolaney won by 2-12 to St. Farnan`s 2-11.The team was N. Culkin, J. Flynn, K. Hannon,G. Hannon, D. Hynes,N. Hynes, G. Feeney, T. Kilgannon, C. Hallinan, P. Culkin, N. Crean(0-2), S. Neary(1-1), D. Culkin(0-3(2f),G. Calpin(0-4(2f), M. Lang(1-1).Sub: K. Lang (for N. Crean).The next game is away to Calry on Saturday at 7 pm.
The under 12 team earned a draw against Enniscrone/ Kilglass on Tuesday last in Templeboy. It was 12 scores each. 
Congratulations to the under 16 hurlers of Easkey/St. Farnan`s who won the county league title on Wednesday last when they defeated Tourlestrane by 6-23 to 1-9.
