Congratulations to the St Mary's Club men who were involved
in a historic weekend at Hyde Park in the Minor and Senior Provincial Finals
this weekend and good luck to the Minors in their replay against Galway in Tuam
on Friday 24th July.
The intermediate team faced Owenmore Gaels in the League
final on Saturday evening in what can only be described as dreadful
conditions. The very wet conditions made
it a caseof trying to retain the ball and despite a strong comeback in the
second half the St Mary's team came out second best, but credit to all involved
in providing an exciting finish to the League campaign.
The U10 and U8 sides had a break from the normal Saturday
morning coaching with a successful trip to Scarden Centre of Excellence to play
against very strong and well-organised Shamrock Gaels sides. Both Teams fielded 3 competitive teams and
are a credit to their coaches and mentors.
There are definitely some future stars in the making and the level of
competition for the ball is a good sign for the future of Gaelic Football in
both Club and perhaps County in the future.
In Fixtures k our Under 16 travel to Owenmore Gaels on
Monday evening at 7:00, Our U14 host St Patricks on Friday evening at 7:00 and
on 29th July the U12 face St Maloaise Gaels in the Final of the
Football league in Markievicz Park.
