Intermediate

Our intermediate team continue their preparations for the next round of the club championship with training this week.

Minor

Minor training also continues this week as championship looms. All players are asked to attend.

U-16

The opening round of the championship for our under-16s takes place on Monday evening (July 27th) at 7pm in Quigabar. This fixture is re-arranged having been originally fixed for last week. Good luck lads.

U-14

Our under14 boys suffered a loss to a well-resourced St Molaise Gaels side in the opening round of the championship at Grange last Friday evening, 10-10 to 3-11. The boys will hope to get their campaign back on track this week when they play host to Ballymote/Bunninadden in Quigabar of Friday evening at 7pm.

Golf classic

Our rearranged golf classic takes place on Friday, August 7th at Enniscrone GC. An enjoyable day is in prospect with a fantastic first prize of 4 All-Ireland football final and tickets to play for. Many other prizes will also be available. For more details contact coordinator Tom McManus, and to book a tee time contact Enniscrone GC on (096) 36297.

County scene

Commiserations to Mark O’Dowd and the Sligo minor team on their defeat to Galway in the Connacht final replay last Friday evening. They now face Kerry in the All-Ireland quarter-final on the August Bank Holiday Monday. Best wishes to the Sligo senior footballers in their All-Ireland qualifier versus Tyrone this Saturday at Croke Park.  Well done to Eoin Hallinan who was involved with the Sligo under-16s at the Ted Webb Cup last Saturday.

Dancing at the Crossroads

Our ladies committee host a novel fundraiser in Sheridan’s Bar, Kilglass for the August Bank Holiday weekend on the Sunday night. Music, a barbeque and great craic will all be part of what promises to be a great weekend. Tickets are available locally at the moment and all support is greatly appreciated. For further details, contact Ann Nelson.

Cúl Camp

It’s that time of year again where children from around the area descend on Quigabar for the annual Cúl Camp from July 27th to 31st. It promises to be a great week again with massive numbers set to attend. To book a place contact Michael Duffy (087) 6303567. Everyone is welcome.
