U-16 Championship Div 3 Rd 4: St. John's 3-6 Enniscrone 5-8

Two late goals from Enniscrone dents St. John’s but still reach semi-finals
Playing with the aid of the wind in the first half St. John’s took an early lead through Shane Egan. Enniscrone hit back with a goal of their own with eight minutes gone. Points from Ronan McGoldrick & Dillon Lynch McMorrow brought the sides level but four points from Enniscrone without reply seen the seasiders out in front. The St. John’s Management made an astute substitution bringing on Senan Kelly for Jordan Gorman. Kelly wasn’t on the field long when he rattled the back of the Enniscrone goal with a rasping shot. And with half time fast approaching Jack Walsh scored St. John’s second goal with the sky blues ahead at half time by 2-4 to 1-5.

St. John’s further extended their lead early in the second half with the Carraroe’s side third goal coming from Adam Grace’s penalty strike. Rather than pressing home their advantage it was Enniscrone who battled back into contention. A quick fire salvo from the seasiders seen them regain the lead. St. John’s looked to have weathered the Enniscrone storm with further points from Adam Grace & Dillon Lynch McMorrow. However in the last ten minutes St. John’s lost their shape and Enniscrone got in for two late goals to win the contest.

With three wins out of four St. John’s still have reached the semi-finals
