The intermediate team lost out narrowly to St. Pat's on Saturday in their championship game by 11 points to 9.
In the closing stages there were goal opportunities for both sides but neither capitalised, James and Ciaran combined to create our goal chance and a good block by Declan kept St Pats out. With 6 minutes to go Cormac scored a point for us to lead 0-9 to 0-8 but Pats rallied and managed 3 quick points to win by two. Final score 0-11 to 0-9. Easkey and St. Farnan's joined forces for football at under 13 level for FĂ©ile with their first match at home against St. John's on Wednesday.This proved to be a one sided contest with Easkey/ St. Farnan's winning comfortably by 10-12 to 2-3.
The under 16 team will play Easkey in the semi final of the championship on Tuesday next at 6 30 pm in Templeboy. Please support.
Well done to the club's under 14 and under 16 hurlers who lined out for Sligo at the weekend. The under 14 team won the Shield at the all Ireland competition in Cavan.The under 16 team won their group at the All Ireland B competition but lost the semi final of the Cup to Donegal. Easkey/ St. Farnan's minor hurlers defeated Tubbercurry/ Cloonacool in the minor championship on Thursday last by 3-22 to 1-2.
