DinnerDance

A big thank you to Micheál Ó'Muircheartaigh, and to Mickey Kearins and his wife Frances, for being wonderful guests at our recent Dinner Dance celebration.

Micheál Ó'Muircheartaighs inspirational speech was the highlight for many of the night - with a clear message of hope, "dóchas" coming through all of his wonderful anecdotes - stories of players and teams over the years who kept coming back, a "never give up spirit" that he believed is in Easkey, and he encouraged the Intermediate winning team to aspire to senior level - "if you hope it, it can be done"

Micheál finished with "go mbeirimid beo ar an am seo arís", that win or lose, we will all be alive and well, and looking forward with hope to another year!

After a busy photoshoot with Steve Rogers, and Donal from The Sligo Champion, (thank you both!) Micheál Ó'Muircheartaigh presented medals to the u16 Connacht Hurling Champions of Easkey/St.Farnans, and to Easkeys Minor Football League winners, Junior League winners and Intermediate Championship winners.

Mickey Kearins made a special presentation to the individual members of the 1966 Senior Championship winning team (Mickey and his club St.Pats met Easkey in that campaign)

Micheál also pesented the Club awards:

Young player of the year - Mikey Gordon

Junior Player of the year - Mikey Finnerty

Senior Player of the year - Ryan McKenna

Clubperson of the year - Noel mcGuire

Hall of Fame winner - TJ Lyons

Congratulations to all...

A Presentation was also made to Rounders organiser Claire McGuire, who accepted this on behalf of the team, parents and her many fellow coaches.

Micheál also presented a small token to each member of the Connacht-winning Scór music group who performed at the start of the evening.

Presentations from Rosies Pottery Easkey, were made to our special guests, who very kindly gave of their time throughout the night to chat and pose for photographs.

A very full evenings entertainment, with some fun anecdotes from Captain Eugene Mullen, and an entertaining impersonation by Jonathon Conway! Great food as always by the Diamond Coast, and good fun and music by Pat and son into the early hours.Thank you to all who supported the night in various ways, and helped make it a success
