We congratulate Neil Ewing, Jamie Gillen and the Sligo senior footballers on their fine victory over Westmeath in the Division 3 of the Allianz football league last Sunday. Hard luck to the ladies, who were beaten by Clare in Division 2 of the Lidl NFL.

Thank you to everyone who supported our club table quiz and raffle on Saturday night in Harry's Bar & Gastro Pub, Rosses Point.  Despite the cryptic questions, it was a very enjoyable night and valuable funds were raised for the club.  Congratulations to the winning team of Michael O'Brien, Padraig Keane, Fergal Keane & Declan O'Brien who generously donated their prize money back to the club.  We would also like to thank Fenton Ewing and his staff of Harry's for their hospitality and Fenton's generous donation to the club. Brian Coyle of Coyle's Centra Cartron donated a number of raffle prizes which is very much appreciated.  Thanks also to the other sponsors of prizes which resulted in a large sum raised from the raffle.  Special thanks must go to event organiser Des Henry, who was also quizmaster on night, and to Carol O'Brien, Michelle Coyle-Henry, Shane Campbell & Jimmy O'Brien for helping out.

Registration 2016 for all playing and non-playing members takes place this Saturday morning (13th) in Oxfield from 10am to 12:45. There’ll also be a registration evening on Wednesday 24th in Scoil Realt na Mara, Rosses Point from 7:30 to 9pm. You can view a full list of registration fees on the club’s facebook page. The GAA Nursery starts on Feb 27th.

The club is holding a free Clothing Collection Day this Saturday 13th from 10am to 2pm. Recycle your old clothes, bed linen, curtains and towels at two locations. Drop off your unwanted items at Oxfield or the Car Park opposite Harry’s Bar in Rosses Point between 10 and 2pm - and the club will do the rest. For more event info, call Aidan O’Reilly on 0879785311.

The inaugural DRP #Point2Point Cycle Tour will take place on May 21st and 22nd this year. It’s a two-day leisure cycle from Rosses Point in County Sligo to Rossan Point in County Donegal - and back! An information meeting about this exciting fundraising event takes place on Monday 15th in the Yeats Tavern, Drumcliffe, at 9pm.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Michael Carney, sons Paul and Glenn, sister and brothers and extended family on the death of Marian (née Wynne), of Breaghwy, Ballinfull. May she rest in peace.
