SECOND HALF GOALS EARNS THE POINTS FOR HARPS
Fureys Coaches Senior Football League Division 1
Eastern Harps 2-07 Coolera/Strandhill 0-12
Two late second half goals from Shane O Grady and Martin Doherty proved crucial in Eastern Harps rather fortunate victory over Coolera Strandhill in this Division One second round tie played at a very windy Ransboro on Sunday. Powered by county stars Keelan Cawley and particularly Niall Murphy, who scored eleven of their twelve points, Coolera Strandhill looked the better side throughout but still only managed to lead by a point at the half time break 0-05 to 0-04. Aided by the cross field wind in the second half Eastern Harps still found penetration difficult but managed a lucky break when O Grady goaled with five minutes left. From the kick out Coolera/Strandhill attacked strongly but lost possession in the midfield area from where Harps moved the ball through the middle to full forward Martin Doherty who finished to the net calmly for a score that gave the visitors victory.
