The senior men dug
out a result at Connolly
Park on Sunday against
fellow relegation battlers St. Farnans to give their division 2 survival
chances a shot in the arm. The game ended 0-10 to 1-5 with the result giving
the men a confidence boost going into the crucial final tow league games. We
have a break from league action for the next two weeks as Benson Cup takes
over, we're away to Enniscrone next Saturday evening at 7:30.
Our senior ladies
were unlucky on Sunday morning to be narrowly beaten in their league semi final
by Curry in a great game of football that came right down to the wire. The
final shoreline of 3-9 to 2-9 does not do the game justice. Well done girls.
A massive
congratulations to Club Member and underage manager Anthony Sweeney and his
wife Rosaleen on birth of Baby Zoe on Friday.
The U16s lost out to
Shamrock Gaels on a scoreline of 3-7 to 9 this evening at Connolly Park. A low scoring first half saw the
teams enter half time with only a point in the difference. Shamrock Gaels pushed on in the second
half and took their goal chances well. Overall, an improved team performance
with some brilliant pieces of play. The team: Diarmuid O'Grady, Diarmuid Harte,
Mark Walsh, Liam Gilligan, Evan Willis, Jamie Callaghan, Kevin Quigley, Oisin Geraghty,
Aaron Walsh, Vincent Harte, Darragh Mahon, Ciaran McPartland, Byron Doherty,
Jordan McGuinn, Roan Conneely. Subs used: Jamie Feeney, Martin Weir, Jack
Branley, Conaill O'Dwyer.
