The minor team have qualified  for the A league  semi final following  defeat  of Coolera/Strandhill in the quarter  final played in Scarden on Tuesday last. The final score  was St. Farnan's  1-13, Coolera/Strandhill 0-7. This was a very competitive  game with both sides battling hard.  We had to field  without the injured  goalie  Sean Hallinan. His brother  Cahan took his place in the first half whilst David  Hallinan  took over in the second half. Both players performed  well, keeping  a clean sheet  and being very  effective  with placed kick outs. St. Farnan's  were first on the scoreboard  with a point from a free taken by Patrick  O'Connor. Coolera followed with a point from a free. St. Farnan's  dominated the scoring  with five points without  reply and led 0-7 to 0-1 It was Coolera who got the next three points. At half time the score  was St. Farnan's  0-9, Coolera 0-5.
That four point  gap remained for much of the second half as St. Farnan's  defended very well. In the latter stages of the half Eamonn Kilgannon  found the next and finished  the scoring with a point. Coolera managed only two points in the half,  one from a free. 
The team was Cahan Hallinan,  Farnan Kilgannon,  Fergal Ryan,  Oisin Connolly,  David  Hallinan,  James Weir,  Mark Devaney,  Eamonn Kilgannon (1-2),Kevin  Mc Gee(0-2), Shane O'Brien,  Donall Hanley,  Keelan Kilrehill (0-2), Patrick O'Connor (0-7(3f),Conor Gordon. 
The team will play away to Eastern  Harps on Thursday at 7pm.
The under 16 team were defeated  by a very strong St. Molaise Gaels team in the B league  final played  in Markievicz Park on Monday last. Despite the 8-14 to 0-11 scoreline the team performed  well and scored some fine points. 
The under 12 Easkey / St. Farnans hurlers were narrowly  beaten in the B shield  final on Tuesday by Tourlestrane. by 0-10 to 0-9 The minor hurlers meanwhile  had a very comfortable  win in the championship  over Tourlestrane  by 4-25 to 3-3.
The under 12 football  team play away to Buninadden in the B shield  semi final on Tuesday at 7 pm. The under 14's play Enniscrone in the first round of the B championship  on Friday at 7 in Templeboy.
The intermediate  team had an important  win over Easkey  in the league  on Sunday  in Easkey. The final score was Easkey  0-10, St. Farnan's  2-12 This match had all the elements  of a local derby and the rivalry  was intense. St. Farnan's  got the first point from Tomas Ryan. Easkey  added three points before the hard working Matthew  Lang passed a great ball to James Hynes who finished  it to the back of the net. The sides traded points for the next while  before Ciaran O'Connor  got our second goal. This left the score 2-4 to 0-6. St. Farnan's  added two points  from play and Ryan Mc Kenna scored a free to leave the half time score  St. Farnan's  2-5, Easkey  0-7.Easkey had a strong  breeze  in the first half. 
Five minutes  into the second half Matthew  Lang had to retire due to injury. Matthew  had played a pivotal  role in the first half. Eamonn Kilgannon came on as sub. The sides got a point a piece before Niall Crean replaced Shane Neary. St. Farnan's  lost goalie Padraic Harte to a black card. He was replaced  by Gareth  Ryan half way into the second half. Easkey  lost Haydn Gilroy  to a black card with ten minutes  remaining after James Hynes was fouled. St. Farnan's  dominated the latter stages of the game with two frees from Ciaran and a point from play by Niall Crean. Joe Mc Hugh got the last score of the game for Easkey  from a free.
