Surf and Turf Run
We’re
delighted to announce that the annual Surf and Turf run is back again for 2016
on Saturday, October 29th (bank holiday weekend). This event, over five
kilometres, is fast becoming a staple of the autumnal calendar across the west
Sligo and north Mayo areas and we look forward to another fantastic day again
this year filled with obstacles, bog and plenty of fun! You can find the event
on Facebook (Enniscrone Surf and Turf Run) and Twitter (@surfturf2016). More
details will follow in the coming weeks, but for now get training!
Minor
The minor
team continue training this week. No date for the final vs Owenmore Gaels had
been made available at the time of writing.
U-13
Our U-13
boys put in a good performance to defeat Coolaney/Mullinabreena at Quigabar last
Sunday morning, 4-8 to 4-3. This was an especially good result given the
absence of a couple of players plus the horrendous playing conditions. The team
will hope to maintain their momentum when they play away to Geevagh next Sunday
morning at 11am.
Astro-turf pitch development
Construction
will soon start on our eagerly awaited indoor astro-turf complex at Quigabar.
This major development is the biggest in the club’s history and will mark the
start of a new, modern era for GAA within the parish. A sod turning event,
performed by Sports Minister Mr Patrick O’Donovan TD, takes place on Tuesday,
October 4th from 10am at Quigabar. Everyone is most welcome to this
event to kick-start the development.
Blotto
There was no
winner of last weekend’s blotto draw. The draw continues every Saturday night
and your continued support is greatly appreciated.
