Sligo finished their FBD league campaign off with a three point victory over Leitrim. Sligo started well and found the back of the Leitrim net when Naill Murphy finished to the back of the net after Cian Breheny made a run through before passing off to Murphy. Both Mark Breheny and Adrian Marren were also on the mark in the early stages.

But Leitrim did settle and got two points of their through Conor Gallagher and Gary Plunkett but Sligo dominated the next 15 minutes of the half where Sligo added a second goal as Mark Breheny finished to the net to put Sligo in control of the match.

Sligo led at half time 2-12 – 0-6 Leitrim pointing a free before the break to cut back the margin. Sligo would only score once more over the course of the second half which came from Niall Murphy. Niall Carew got game time for most of squad ahead of the national league opener against Armagh.

Leitrim came more and more into the match in the second half as Emyln Mulligan was starting to make an impact with points from Ryan O’Rourke and three second half points from Keith Beirne but they had too much to do as Sligo done enough to get the win over neighbours Leitrim.
