Intermediate Championship

Pride of place in our club this week goes to our senior team who defeated Shamrock Gaels by 0 -11 to 0 -8 in Markievicz Park on Sunday to book their place in the Kennedy Intermediate Championship final where they will meet St Farnans on Sunday Oct 8th. St Johns showed tremendous skill, courage and determination to overcome a strong Gaels team who had been operation in Div 1 of the League and who had been rated as favourites for the Intermediate title. The performance of the team as a whole was admirable but the defence stood out for their fine tackling and coolness under pressure. Well done to the whole panel and the management team for a wonderful performance.
