M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling / Camogie  Interprovincial Finals in Knocknarea Arena, Sligo I.T on Saturday, October 14th 2017

The ‘’Sligo  GAA for ALL Committee’’ in collaboration with Sligo Sports & Recreation Partnership  (SSRP) and National Games for All Committee  are hosting the M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling / Camogie  Interprovincial Finals in Knocknarea Arena, Sligo I.T on Saturday, October 14th 2017 from 11.00am to 15.40pm. The first game is at 12.00pm.

This is a great honour for the Sligo GAA ‘’Inclusion / Games for All ‘’ Committee and the Sligo Sports and Recreation Partnership to host the fifth  M Donnelly GAA All Ireland Wheelchair hurling / camogie Championship Finals after  being granted the privilege by Croke Park in honour of Sligo being nominated as the ‘’European Volunteer Capital 2017’’. This event is usually Dublin based and we are delighted to host the finals in Sligo, and play our part in the enormous volunteering efforts across County Sligo.

Wheelchair hurling / camogie  is going from strength to strength and ensures that our great games can be enjoyed by both able bodied and people with a disability, alike.

Brian Armitage (National GAA for ALL Chairman) stated: “When our Committee talks about GAA for ALL, it’s days like these we mean.  I’d like to pay a special mention to our GAA volunteer network and of course our Coaching personnel. Lastly and by no means least, I’d like to thank Martin Donnelly for his continuous sponsorship.’’

Thanks to the Connacht Games for All Committee Chairman Denis O’Boyle and Secretary Mattie Kilroy, also  thanks  to the National Games for All  Committee Chairman Brian Armitage and  Tony Watene. Finally sincere thanks to the Connacht GAA Council and especially John Prenty  ( Secretary) and President Mick Rock for supporting the Connacht Wheelchair Hurling /Camogie team,  and to Sligo GAA County Board and chairman Joe Taffe for their assistance. Finally sincere thanks to the wheelchair hurling / camogie players  for their time, determination and effort  in playing  and promoting the game of wheelchair hurling / camogie.
