Ladies Make Winning Start
Our ladies intermediate footballers made a winning start to their Division 2 campaign last Sunday morning with an encouraging 4-6 to 3-3 win over Calry/St Joseph’s at Oxfield. Despite the windy conditions, the team produced a strong second-half performance with Amanda Healy (2), Ella McDermott and Laura Oates finding the net. The team travel to Keash this Sunday to play Eastern Harps at 10am. We extend our best wishes and a speedy recovery to county player Rachel Monaghan who will miss the rest of the 2018 season after suffering a cruciate ligament injury while on county duty recently. Last Sunday’s DRP team was: Rachel Quigley, Orla Furey (Capt), Sinéad Regan, Grace Casserly, Lisa McLoughlin, Michelle McNamara, Kate Keyes, Emily McCormack, Jayne McCormack, Ella McDermott, Amanda Healy, Molly Brady, Roisín Healy, Laura Oates, Megan Brady. Seniors Down Tubber
The senior men’s team collected their first win in Division 1 on Saturday evening thanks to a deserved 2-6 to 1-7 win against Tubbercurry at Oxfield. Paul Logan hit 1-2 and Eoin Gaughan 0-4 in a match which saw DRP restrict their opponents to a solitary score in the second-half. We travel to Grange on Saturday evening to play neighbours St Molaise Gaels at 6:30pm in round 4 of the league. Last Saturday’s team was: Justin Lyons, Tom Finnegan, John McGowan, Jude McGarry, John Harvey, Dara Long, Hugh Kisby, Brian Monaghan, Stephen Regan, Neil Ewing (Capt), Jame Gillen 1-0, Ciaran McLaughlin, Eoin Gaughan 0-4, Kevin Davey, Paul Logan 1-2. Subs used: Niall Canning for Kevin Davey.

School Success
Big congratulations to the Rathcormac National School girls football team who won the Sligo Cumann na mBunscol mini-sevens title last week for the first time in the school’s history. It was a great achievement for all the players involved: Ciara Henry, Katie Maguire, Rianne Smith, Eabha Kilfeather, Aoibheann O’Reilly, Emma Devaney, Anna Currid, Gemma O’Callaghan, Katie Hester & Jasmine Dunleavy.

Féile 2018 - Table Quiz
The club is holding fundraising table quiz for the Benbulben Gaels U14 hurdles on Saturday, April 28th, in Davis’s Restaurant at 9:30pm, to support the team’s All-Ireland Féile preparations. We are one of the host clubs for the country’s premier underage hurling event, which takes place on June 8, 09 & 10th.  onAs part of the build-up to the All-Ireland Under 14 hurling Féile in June, the club is holding holding a Table Quiz in Davis’s Restaurant, Drumcliffe, on Saturday, April 28th at 9:30pm to help the Benbulben Gaels U14 team prepare for the competition. A team of four costs €20.

London v Sligo - Competition
Our Championship Forecast Cards are now available for the London v Sligo Connacht Championship match on May 6th. Simply predict the final score (after normal time) of the big game in Ruislip and you could win a €100 voucher for Davis’s Restaurant. Entry costs just €2. Forecast cards are available from Club PRO Austin O’Callaghan (0876855621) and will also be collected/returned at  Oxfield this Saturday morning between 9:30 & 11:30am.

U12 Teams
Our boys U12 football teams play St Molaise Gaels in Grange this Tuesday evening at 6:30pm. The girls U12 team were beaten by Calry/St Joseph’s last week. They play St Molaise this Thursday evening in Oxfield at 7pm.

U14 Teams
Our boys U14 footballers were beaten 3-10 to 0-12 by Owenmore Gaels in the league last Thursday evening. The girls U14s play Calry/St Joseph’s this Tuesday evening at Oxfield.

Hurling
Benbulben Gaels U14 hurlers play Western Gaels at Oxfield on Thursday at 7pm in the league. 

U8/U10 Blitz
We are hosting a fun blitz with Shamrock Gaels for our U8/U10 nursery footballers this Wednesday evening (April 18th) in Oxfield at 7pm. Players are asked to assemble at 6:45pm. 

GAA Nursery
Saturday morning football nursery coaching continues at Oxfield this weekend. Players born 2012 & 2013 at 9:45am. Players born 2008-2011 at 10:30am. Hurling nursery (Age 7+) at 11: 30am. New players are always very welcome. 

Monthly Meeting
The club’s monthly meeting for April will take place on Monday 30th in Oxfield at 9pm.
