The Cloonacool/Tubber U-14 footballers had a good victory at home last week to Drumcliffe/Rosses/Point on a 5-6 to 0-5 scoreline. Our men's senior team with a number of fringe players getting a run out, went down to Eastern Harps at home in the Abbot Cup competition semi-final in the community park on Saturday evening last by the narrowest of margins on a 2-5 to 0-12 scoreline. Training continues during the week at the usual times and dates. The U-12 division 1&3 teams travel to Kent Park to take on St. Mary's in the league on Tuesday evening next 19th of June at 6.30 pm. The Sligo minor team will play Mayo on Saturday evening next, at 5 pm with the venue to be confirmed. The best of luck is extended to the Sligo senior team, panel and management as they prepare to take on opponents Armagh in Markievicz Park on Saturday evening next June 23 rd at 6 pm.in the All-Ireland qualifiers. All support would be greatly appreciated. The annual national school sports day will be held when St. Michael's national school re-opens in September. Sympathy is extended to former senior club player Peter McIntyre (Dublin and formerly Leitrim-North) and a wider circle of family and friends, on the sudden passing of Kate McIntyre recently abroad. Also to the family, relatives and friends of the late Kathleen Kilgannon of Carrentubber, who went to her eternal reward during the last week. May they rest in peace.
