Our senior defeated Shamrock Gaels by 0-14 to 0-11 in the 3rd round of fixtures in the Kiernan Cup Group 2 at Coola on Sunday last. The sides were level 0-08 each at the interval and remained the same for much of the second period . However three late points including efforts from the excellent Dara  Ellliott and Luke Towey saw Gaels secure victory. Darren Gilsenan had another outstanding outing at centrefield and was well supported by Luke Towey in an attacking half back role.  Upfront the McLoughlin brothers Alan and Jamie played well but Dara Elliott was the standout performer  showing well to get possession and kicking some good points. Gaels are at home to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point on Sunday next at 1.00pm in the final round of games. A win or draw for the home side will see them qualify for the final while Sundays' opponents must win to make the final.
