Under 14 Boys

U14s CONTINUE THEIR GOOD FORM........
Coolera/Strandhill Boys u14 had an emphatic win over a depleted St Molaise Gaels side earlier this evening at Ransboro Park. The visitors opened the scoring but it was only to spur the host team into action with Jarlath Herbert getting the first of his two goals. Oisin O Neill picked up where he left off last week by raising a green flag...the first of three goals for him, his third effort in the second half was worthy of any top-class finisher. Jamie Kilfeather and Rory Kinane added further goals to go with points from Kevin Davitt, Ross Doherty and Mark McDaniel.
Alfie Mc Dermott found the net early in the second half as did Andrew Lynch and Ross Doherty...further points by Kevin Davitt,Mark McDaniel and an unorthodox drop kick from Andrew Lynch closed out the scoring.
There were impressive defensive displays from Ben Cawley and Daire McCormack who grows in stature with each game, aided by Cathal Ballantine, the consistent Tadgh Doggett and versatile Jaime Walsh. Up front Zach Gilligan and Sam White worked selflessly to set up several scores. Oran Harte came off the bench to man the posts in the second half and keep up the family tradition...and man of the match went to Oisin Hennessy in the unfamiliar corner back position. Team on duty Jamie Walsh, Oisin Hennessy, Daire Mc Cormack, Tadgh Doggett, Jamie Kilfeather, Ben Cawley, Kevin Davitt, Ross Doherty, Rory Kinane (Capt), Andrew Lynch, Mark McDaniel, Alfie McDermott, Jarlath Herbert, Oisin O Neill, Sam White, Cathal Ballantine, Zach Gilligan, Oran Harte.

Under 12 Girls
The under 12 girls got their championship campaign off to a winning start with a hard fought two point victory over St. Mary's. After a busy week at the club Cul Camp the girls had to put in a huge effort in a match that was end to end from start to finish. To their credit the girls kept the scoreboard ticking over, and with some excellent performances from Aine Harte, Susannah Gilligan, Anna McDaniel, Lisa Kilfeather and Mollie Ronan they emerged victorious by 12-10. They play St. Nathy's away next Friday. Well done all.

Go-Games

Go-Games for our 5-8 year olds finished up Friday evening with fun and games, and the presentation of certificates. Massive thanks to Myra and her team of coaches, and a special word of thanks to the young coaches who helped out. Well done everyone. (photo attached)

Health and Wellbeing

Many thanks to Geraldine McGuinn, our Club's Health and Wellbeing Officer for the fantastic initiative presented to our young members. She held a very informative 10 min session for each group at our club Cúl Camp in Scarden last week. In the session she detailed the amount of sugar in our cereals and soft drinks. She also emphasised the importance of eating fruit like apples & bananas and choosing water instead of juices. It went very well and the children got a chance to ask plenty of questions of Geraldine, who was well informed. Well done Geraldine! Thank you to Lidl who kindly gave apples, bananas, water and cereals. (photos attached)

Senior Hurling

Our senior hurlers had a comprehensive win over Tubbercurry in the second round of the championship running up a massive 16-36 in the process. They travel to Enniscrone/Kilglass on the 22nd to play Western Gaels in Round Three.

County U14

Well done to Mark McDaniel, Jamie Walsh, Ben Cawley and Ross Doherty who were part of the Sligo U14 development squads that played Leitrim and Roscommon in a blitz last week.
