The club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Gary McDermott, Castlebaldwin who died last week. The club formed a guard of honour at Gary's funeral. Gary was a great GAA player and supporter having played with Knockalassa in the sixties. His son Glen continued the tradition with a long career with the Gaels and Sligo and is currently Minor team manager while Gary's grandchildren, Dillon and Ellie currently star for underage teams. We also express sympathy with the family and relatives of Mae Keegan, Sooey who was a great supporter of the Gaels since its foundation and continued to support the Gaels into her 91st year. There was a minutes silence observed at the Senior game at the weekend in honour of both Gary and Mae. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.
