Congratulations to Easkey/ St. Farnan's under 16 hurlers who won the league title on Tuesday last with a 3-14 to 3-10 win over Ben Bulben Gaels in Scarden. St. Farnan's players on the team were Tommy Esler, Colm Breen, Shane Molloy, Kenneth Mitchell, Thomas Cawley, Fionn Connolly and Niall Hallinan.
 St. Farnan's/ St. Pat's minor team begin their championship campaign with an away game to Coolaney/ Mullinabreena on Thursday at 7pm. The under 16 team play Owenmore Gaels on Monday in the championship in Castleconnor pitch at 7. They received a walk over from Calry/ St. Joseph's on Monday last. Good luck to the hurlers involved with the county under 20 hurling team who play Kerry in the All Ireland B semi final on Sunday at 2pm in Ballinasloe. The team defeated Donegal in the quarter final on Tuesday. St. Farnan's players on the panel are James Weir, Gavin Connolly, Stephen Mulligan and Sean Hallinan.
The intermediate team played St. Michael's on Sunday in the final round of the league in Templeboy and got a crucial win on a score of 2-18 to 1-11. The team got off to a poor start with St. Michael's scoring four points without reply  before Patrick O'Connor got our first  point from a free. St. Michael's got a goal shortly after to increase their lead. St. Farnan's, however finished the half much better and led by 1-8 to 1-6 at the break with the goal coming from Gavin Connolly. We dominated the second half. St. Farnan's increased the pace of attack and with  good work by the back line and half back line we outscored St. Michael's by 2-10 to 0-5 in the second half. The team was Sean Healy, John Quinn, Eamonn Kilgannon (1-0), Conor Gordon, James Weir, Matthew Lang, Cormac Hallinan, Patrick O'Connor (0-9(8f), Kevin Mc Gee, Finnian Cawley (0-2), Ciaran O'Connor (0-5), Stephen Mulligan, Declan Cawley (0-1), Iarla O'Connor (0-1), Gavin Connolly (1-0). Subs used: Stephen Feeney, Ryan Mc Coombe, Mark Devaney, Trevor Kilgannon, Niall Crean. The focus now shifts to preparation for the championship when we face St. Michael's in the first round.
The Junior team played Castleconnor on Monday last and enjoyed a great win on a scoreline of 3-15 to 2-6. St. Farnan's had most of the possession in the first half and led 1-6 to 1-2. Both goals came just before the break,one for Castleconnor followed by a goal by Stephen Feeney on the stroke of half time. Karl Hannon was injured early in the game and was replaced by Evan Kilrehill.
St. Farnan's we're again dominant in the second half with some good work by Niall Crean in the half back line. The side scored a number of good points with goals also in this half from Kevin Mc Gee and Keith Lang. Overall this was a good team performance. Next up is a game against Easkey on Monday at 8 15 pm in Templeboy.

Best wishes to Ronan Hynes who has the honour of refereeing the Division 1 football final on Sunday next. The club are very proud of Ronan and his refereeing achievements.
Registration for the Summer Camp on August 6 and 7 should be completed by July 27. Cost per child €30. This football camp caters for boys and girls aged 4-14. All participants will receive a T shirt.
Don't forget to keep November 10 free as this is our Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser in the Diamond Coast Hotel. Volunteers are still needed, if interested contact any club officer.
