The annual G.A.A. family fun day will be held in the community park on Sunday September 16th  next. The U-12 hurlers went down to a strong Easkey team recently. The U-14 footballers were winners over Owenmore Gaels in the championship last week and will take on St. Marys on Thursday evening next 24th August at home. Our minor hurlers went down to a strong Naomh Eoin squad in the championship last week. The Cloonacool/Tubbercurry U-16 footballers were defeated last week in the championship by St. Farnans/St. Patricks and will now meet Coolera/Strandhill on Monday evening 20th August in Kilcoyne Park at 7pm in the next round. Our minor footballers will take on Coolera/Strandhill in Ransboro Park on Wednesday evening next 24th August at 7pm. Training for the Junior squad continues during the week and over the weekend in preparation for the next championship fixture versus St. Molaise Gaels in two weeks time. All fixtures and results are available on the Sligo G.A.A. website on a weekly basis. Hard luck to the Sligo Intermediate ladies team and their manager Paddy Henry on their defeat to Tyrone in the All-Ireland semi-final last weekend. We were represented on the panel by Siobhan Brennan. A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped out at the championship game in the community park on Saturday evening last. Sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of the late Nora Brennan of Doomore who went to her eternal reward last week. May she rest in peace.
