Junior Football
Our Junior team continued on their winning way in the County
Junior B Championship when they took on and comprehensively defeated our
neighbours Coolera-Strandhill in Ransboro on Sat evening last on a scoreline of
2-12 to 1-4 to top Group 1
Minor
Football
Our U18 minor team took the field against Geevagh/St Michaels
last Tues with a depleted side and due to injuries during the game they were
unable to complete the game and had to concede. Their next fixture is at home
in Stenson Park against Castleconnor on Thurs 23rd.
Under 16 Boys
Football
Our under 16 team continued on their winning way in Stenson
Park last Mon night when they defeated visitors Easkey/Enniscrone/Kilglass by
8-14 to 3-5 to maintain their 100% record and guarantee a place in the county
final where they will meet the winners of a playoff between Tourlestrane and
Easkey/Enniscrone/Kilglass. Great credit is due to this bunch of players and
their management team of Fergal Kelly and Pat Martin. All their hard work and
dedication has been well rewarded and we wish them well in the final.
Under 14 Boys
Football
Our under 14 boys team made it two wins from two in the
championship on Friday night in Stenson Park, Cuilbeg when they defeated
visitors St Pats by 4-9 to 1-7. St Johns got off to a great start with two
quick goals which really set them up and they never looked back. They went in
at half time leading but St Pats never gave up and made a great game of it in
the second half. Despite the difference in the scoreline this was an exciting
game of football with both teams displaying great skills and they were a credit
to the good coaching going on in their clubs.
Under 14 Girls
Football
Our Under 14 girls team had a great win over Curry recently
on a scoreline 4-5 to 1-10. This was a great team display and many of the players
who are in their first year playing gaelic football were very impressive.
Congratulations to our U14 girls team who will act as ball
girls at the three All Ireland Ladies finals which will take place in Croke
Park on Sunday Sept 16th, making their TV debuts on TG4.
Congratulations to our students who received their Leaving
Cert results last Wed and wishing you good luck in your future careers.
