The Gaels advanced to the final of the Intermediate Championship after a hard fought semi-final replay win over Enniscrone. Despite playing with the benefit of a strong breeze, it was Enniscrone who dominated the first half and led by a point at half time. A different Gaels emerged in the second half and brought a sense of urgency to their game and after a David Quinn converted penalty early on they went into the lead which they never looked like relinquishing and ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-8 to 0-9. The team was: Donal Tuohy, Ben Tuohy, Paul Higgins, Evan Lyons, Karl McKenna, Keith McMorrow, Andrew Flynn, James Carroll, Joe Henry, Michael Kilkenny, Frank Quinn (0-1), Dillon McDermott, Brian Boyd (0-2), David Quinn (2-3), Darragh Hailstones (0-1). Subs: Shane Deignan (0-1) for D Hailstones, Seamus Hailtones for K McKenna, Ciaran O'Connor for M Kilkenny, Joe Quinn for B Boyd. They now take on Curry in the final on Sunday 20th October.
