Cloonacool GAA Club notes

It was a big day for our club on Saturday last as we hosted the County Junior A Championship football final in Cloonacool Community Park. In terrible weather conditions a large crowd were treated to a very competitive game of football between Easkey and Owenmore Gaels. Easkey became worthy county champions on a 1-11 to 1-5 scoreline. A big thank you to all the stewards who turned out in big numbers in support of the club, to ensure the day was a big success in appalling conditions. Hard luck to the CT. Gaels ladies team last weekend, they had a great year and this experience will only stand to them going forward. Cloonacool/Tubbercurry minors will meet neighbours Tourlestrane in Tourlestrane under lights on this coming Wednesday evening October 17th at 8.30pm in the county B minor championship final. We wish the team and management the best of luck on the night. All support on the occasion will be very much appreciated. Sympathy is extended to the family, relations and friends of the late David Booth Cuil Bui Cloonacool, and also to the family, relatives and friends of the late Mike Carr Bellaghy, Charlestown brother of Margaret Carty Ballyglass, who both went to their eternal reward recently. May they rest in peace.
