Our senior men had a strong win against Castleconnor this afternoon accompanied by an Atlantic breeze in the first half where they got a good grip on the game and stayed ahead against the breeze in the second half . Our Juniors won well in their League game away to Shamrock Gaels on Saturday evening . Indeed it was a winning weekend for Sligo men’s teams also and we had Clubmen representing in all 3 men’s county games the Minors U20s and the Nicky Rackard Hurlers which ended in a draw so well done to all teams and managers . Hard luck to a great bunch of u14 Sligo LGFA girls who were knocked out Saturday and we also were represented by club girls here too .
Our u12 boys were delighted  once again this year to participate in the Mattie Reddington Tournament In Headford on Saturday.
Don’t forget next weekend Sunday 9th the Junior Tractor Run. Small bikes suitable up for kids up to 8 years are included in the Junior Tractor Run.
Also an ice-cream van will be present on the day. The soccer pitch and outdoor playground will be available on the day for all to use. Come along to Kilmactigue Community Centre for a fun day out. All proceeds going to the KCC.
We were saddened to hear of the passing during the week of Bernie Kirrane RIP grandfather to some of our younger club members. Also we learned of the sudden passing in Dublin of Michael Corcoran Father of club Officer Colm and Darren and likewise grandfather of club team members. Sympathy is extended to both the extended families . Ar dheis Dé go raibh siad .
As many of our club girls and boys team members start their Leaving and Junior Cert exams this week we wish them all the best in their endeavours . Remember exams do not define you , do your best and you are all unique in your own way !
