Bunninadden recorded a famous victory over hot favorites Curry in the quarter final of the Intermediate championship at Kilcoyne Park on a scoreline of 3-11 to 15

Never was the maxim" goals win games" so apt as major scores at crucial stages proved decisive.

Having outfielded his marker before finding  the net early on, Daniel Cafferkey struck again before half -time for his second goal of the half and although Bunninadden had endured some extreme pressure-particularly midway through the first half when Curry hit six points on the trot from Adrian and Jason Marren and Red Óg Murphy, Bunninadden lead at the break 2-5 to 9pts. In the process they also hit the post twice, once from a penalty which was another one to add to the list missed this year.

Having showed great resilience to come to terms with Curry's attack and now having a lead to defend, the Bunninadden defence grew in stature in the second half.  Murray atoned for his earlier penalty miss with a sublime pass to captain Michael Gormley which he finished brilliantly to the Curry net. Gormley -who lined out at centre forward followed up a Kennth Kerins point putting Bunninadden in a very strong position. Curry hit three unanswered points to close the gap to three before Murray closed out the game with three wonderful points from play.

Bunninadden now advance to meet Easkey in the county semi final.
