Big congrats to Drumcliffe Handball Club’s Eoin Kerrigan who, along with Ballymote’s Cormac Finn, won the Connacht boys under-16 ‘A’ handball doubles title on Sunday with victory over Galway in the final. Another Drumcliffe man, Oran McNulty was a finalist too, reaching the under-13 doubles decider with Colm Finn. A great achievement from both local players.

There were disappointment for our county players on Sligo duty at the weekend. Sinead Regan and Rachel Quigley were part of the Sligo team which lost to Wicklow ladies in Division 3 in Dunlavin. The day before, Sligo men’s footballers suffered a two-point loss at home to Waterford. Hard luck to Neil Ewing and Cian Lally, both of whom started that game.

The Saturday morning lie-ins disappear this weekend as our GAA nursery coaching season for 2020 begins at the Rathcormac NS outdoor playing fields. The nursery is tailored for girls and boys born between 2010 and early 2016. The session times are as follows:
Players born 2014, 2015 & early 2016: 9:45am to 10:30am (parents must stay)
Players born 2010 to 2013: 10:30am to 11:30am.

Our club meeting for February takes place this Monday the 24th in Oxfield at 9pm. All club members are welcome to attend.
