St. Michael's Solo Challenge 2020

St. Michael's GAA Club in aid of CLASP

Sunday May 3rd – Friday May 15th

In these testing and difficult times, everyone is feeling the pain and many are in need of help.

We have chosen to help The Community of Lough Arrow Social Project (CLASP)
The project catchment area covers the East Sligo Area and includes the villages of Ballintogher, Ballygawley, Sooey,  Coola, Riverstown, Geevagh, Ballinafad, Keash and Castlebalwin.
CLASP offer a range of services Rural Transport, Quality of Life Programme i.e. Meal on Wheels, Day Centres for Elderly, Health Care, and youth development and the new Local Link Bus Service.
They are currently providing a much needed transport support service and a hot meal service to the elderly during this pandemic.

In the current climate, many organisations are experiencing funding difficulties, CLASP is no different due to a large reduction in revenue so we in St. Michael's hope to do our bit to help.

Our aim is to have as many people, club members (past and present, at home and abroad) and non members to undertake to solo the ball and help the club reach 30,000 solos: please see below.

·         Adults and players above 16 years – 500 solos

·         Players from 12 to 16 years – 200 solos

·         Players from 10-12 years – 100 solos

·         Under 10 years – 50 solos.

·         Solos can be done at intervals

·         A family or group of people can have a relay – 5 people can do 100 solos each.

·         We ask if each person / group participating could record a short video clip of part of the solo (no need for the entire challenge!) and send to brtaaffe@gmail.com or walshthomasf@yahoo.ie so we could share as part of an overall video on the clubs Facebook Page.

All donations whatever the amount welcome!

Thank you very much for your support!
