Despite no
on field action, it was none the less a busy weekend for our senior men
footballers. A virtual 24 hour 40 minute relay run was devised by Eamonn McDonagh.
It began at 2pm on Saturday last in the Sportsfield by club captain George Wall
and ended on Sunday at 2pm, with senior bainisteoir John Hughes In between those two clubmen, every player
ran at 40 minute intervals, within the Covid 19 regulations of 5km of their
respective addresses.
The
beneficiaries of the virtual run were two worthy organisations CLASP &
North West Hospice. Every runners was encouraged to post a video / photos pre
& post their run while also encouraging donations to our 2 chosen beneficiaries.
The run took
place over three continents, with the expected euro target surpassed early on.
Buladh bos
mor to all the organizers, to Brian Farrell for his live facebook updates and
to all the generous souls who donated to the worthy causes.
