Although all eyes will be on Carrick on Shannon on Sunday
coming, it will also be a busy weekend of club football with a full round of
club league games to be played, across all four Divisions.
With the fixing of the county team’s game against Leitrim
for Sunday afternoon there is a change in the fixtures schedule with seven of
the nine Division Four games that had been scheduled for Sunday afternoon now
refixed to 1.00 on the bank holiday Monday.
The remaining two fixtures, Ballymote vs. Easkey and St
Marys vs. Geevagh will still be played on Sunday but at the earlier time of
12.00 noon.
Elsewhere fixtures in Division One and Two scheduled for
Friday evening and Division Three scheduled for Saturday evening will go ahead
as scheduled although the Division One game between Coolera-Strandhill and
Tourlestrane has been rescheduled to July.
With Tourlestrane not playing this weekend, Division One
newcomers St Farnans have the opportunity to go clear at the top of the table
when they visit St Marys who will be looking for their first points in this
year’s League while the other two teams waiting to get off the mark – St
Molaise Gaels and Coolaney/Mullinabreena meet at Nace O’Dowd Park.
There are three Division Two games on Friday night also and with league leaders Drumcliffe-Rosses Point not in action this weekend there is an opportunity for both Curry or Geevagh go above them in the table.
This weekend's Div 3 games throw in on Saturday evening, and with table topper St Michaels on a bye weekend, their closest chasers so far - Castleconnor and St Marys -will be hoping to get get ahead on the table
