Sligo U-16 Girls take C.Park in their Stride
Sligo girls visit Croke park in the run up to All Ireland semi final

Sligo Under Sixteen Girls recently visited the home of Gaelic football in Croke Park. The team which are set too play Kerry in the All ireland semi finals on August 8th at 2.30pm in Mount Bellew were up to play on the soil where legends have played year in year out. The girls themselves are becoming legends in Yeats county as they are carrying Sligos dream of an All Ireland title on their young shoulders. The girls played in three non competitive games against Waterford, Louth and Fermanagh and had a great time showing off their skill set in the national stadium. The matches were ten a side and fifteen minutes straight. The team had great practice and tests on the day with having to play on their weaker foot at one stage. The importance of mentality and team play in football was stressed on the day and the girls came home with more hunger for the All Ireland title. The team who is managed by Conor Gormely have their sights set high after winning the Connacht title a few weeks back and Sligo needs to get behind this them as they are a credit to the county and they are excellent ambassadors for both Sligo and ladies gaelic.
