The Pitch
Easkey GAA Club, will host the award winning play ‘The Pitch’ in Easkey Community Centre this Saturday, January 28th at 8.30 p.m. This is a GAA-themed play, written by the Academy Award Winning Shane Connaughton. The production is currently playing at GAA clubs around the country and stars former Leitrim footballer Seamus O’Rourke. The play’s central character Philly, lived for, and played for, his team, the jersey, the parish - on the very pitch his enemies are now trying to take from him to turn into a housing estate. He holds firm to the memory of the herculean feats of his youth; he replays the events of that fateful day when his club won the county championship for the one and only time. For him the old pitch is sacred ground, and it is here that he will make his last stand.

Congrats Tour
Well done to Tourlestrane on winning 6 of the Allstars and Senior Player of the year. It is a credit to this small parish and shows what can be achieved through hard work and a great underage structure.

Get Your Team to Peak Fitness in 2012
In 2012 we want to get involved with sporting clubs in the county to promote boxing and help clubs raise funds. My name is Patrick Kilcoyne. I am a qualified coach and a member of the Ballinacarrow Boxing Club We are aware that Gaelic Football teams will recommence training in January and we want to offer the opportunity to give the footballers a higher standard of fitness for 2012 and your club the opportunity to fundraise Following our success with our boxers and also our previous white collar events we propose the following: i. Deliver a six week intensive training programme which will radically improve squad fitness levels ii. Train everyone as a whole and train those interested the fundamentals of boxing iii. Following the programme organise either (a) one in house boxing show locally (b) Organise the event against a rival football team and hold two boxing shows i.e. Home and Away We have run these types of events and from previous experience have earned between €5000 - €16,000 for the club after expenses. For the coaching we would be charging for the service and also for use of facilities Your Club would receive monies raised for the show and most importantly have the squad trained to a higher level of fitness heading into 2012 What we are offering: - Coaching: Training delivered from individuals who have coached from Novice to International Level including but not exclusive to Irish Champions. - Insurance: As qualified coaches we are also covered for insurance purposes. - Experience: What we have done is a success - we have the facilities, the equipment and the contacts. If you are interested in this feel free to call me to discuss further. Rgds Pat Kilcoyne Ph: 086-3468048 E: patkilcoyne07@gmail.com
