Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA Club notes Monday 9th June clubnotes

Adult

Our Intermediate team lost to Curry in Division One of the league last Friday by 1-18 to 0-14. 

Next up is a meeting with Shamrock Gaels next weekend. Keep an eye out for confirmation of fixture details. 

On the Division 4B front, our second team return to action on Saturday evening next with a home fixture against St John’s. Throw-in is at 7.30pm. 

Under-13

Our under-13 ‘C’ team play Easkey on Tuesday evening (June 10th) at 7.30pm in Quigabar in their league semi-final. Throw in is at 7.30pm. 

On Thursday night, our ‘A’ team meet St John’s in the league final after a big win over St Mary’s last week. The game takes place in Connolly Park, Collooney with throw-in at half six. Your support for the players and management would be greatly appreciated. We wish the lads all the very best. 

Under-11/Under-9

Well done to our under-11 lads on their display against Shamrock Gaels last week and on their performance at half-time in Tubbercurry on Sunday during Sligo’s Tailteann Cup clash with Carlow. 

This week, they will play in a blitz with Curry and Castleconnor with details yet to be finalised. 

The under-9s play a blitz with St Farnan’s and Castleconnor in Templeboy at 7pm. 

Nursery programme

Drumcliffe/Rosses Point Club notes Monday 9th June clubnotes
Big congrats to Rathcormac NS girls gaelic football team who won the Sligo Cumann na mBunscol title in Scarden last Saturday against a gallant Ransboro NS. The girls produced a great display in high quality final. Rathcormac boys played their hearts out too in their final against a talented Carraroe team, losing out in the end by three points. Well done to both sets of players and their manager Mr Kelly, on another fine Cumann na mBunscol season.

The attention now turns to Réalt na Mara boys football team in Rosses Point as they play their Shield final this Thursday afternoon in Scarden, against Sooey NS. Throw-in is at 4.15pm. The very best of luck to the team.

Congrats to our club players involved with both the men's and women's county teams in their respective championship wins last Sunday agianst Carlow and Kilkenny. It was good to see Eoghan Smith back in action in the Tailteann Cup for the Sligo men's team, after his recent injury lay-off. We wish Eoghan, Cian Lally and the Sligo team the very best of luck in their quarter-final against Fermanagh this weekend. Sinead Regan, Izzy Henry and Rianne Smith all featured in Sligo LGFA's big win over Kilkenny last Sunday in Cloonacool. The county team next play Limerick in two week's time.

On the club front, our senior men's footballers lost out to Shamrock Gaels in last Saturday's Division 1 league game, on a final scoreline of 2-13 to 0-13. Next up is a home fixture against Coolaney/Mullinabreena at Oxfield, (subject to Tailteann Cup quarter-final timings at the time of writing).

Our junior men's football team drew with Eastern Harps on Sunday evening in Oxfield, 2-7 to 1-10.

Our adult women's team resume their ACL Group 4 campaign on Sunday morning with a home game against St John's at 10:30am.

Good luck to the DRP girls U12 teams who take part in the Sligo LGFA Festival of Fun this Saturday in Tubbercurry.

The club is looking at introducing a new 'Gaelic for Mothers & Others' programme over the coming months. The interested mums are currently seeking a club coach to help get them started. If any DRP club coach would  like to give a hand with the initial phase of this new club venture,  please contact our Coaching Officer Rowan O'Callaghn for more info.

Here's a date for your diary & phone: The DRP Golf Classic for 2025 takes place on the nine-hole Bomore Course at Co Sligo Golf Club on Friday, August 15th. More details soon.

Next Saturday our Healthy Club Committee in conjunction with Bord Ná Nóg host a nutrition talk in Riverstown Hall on Saturday 14th at 5.30PM with Una Donnelly, Dietician giving the talk - all welcome.

The Senior Div 1 men's team defeated Drumcliffe/Rosses Point 2-13 to 0-13 in round 5 of the league last Saturday. They now play Enniscrone/Kilglass away next Sunday at 2.00PM.

The Senior Div 3 men's team lost 1-14 to 0-13 in round 5 of the league on Sunday evening. The team was: Jack Duignan, Jack Tuohy, Eoin O'Connell, Shane McCann, Arron Coleman, Gavin McMorrow, Jack Brehony, Patrick Kenny, James Carroll, Conor Kearns, Conor McMorrow, Benny Hailstones, James Foley, Niall Kenny, Darragh McKeon, Subs used: Seamus Hailstones, Darragh Hailstones, Steven Willis. They now play Tourlestrane at home next Saturday at 7.00PM.

Dates and times of these games may change due to Sligo's Tailteann Cup quarter final. 

The Senior Div 4 team lost 1-13 to 2-13 to Castleconnor on Friday evening. They don't play again until Friday 20th June at home to Enniscrone. The U13 boys lost the semi-final of the league last Thursday in an entertaining encounter against Owenmore Gaels. The scoreline was 1-15 to 4-08. Congratulations to Ardkeeran NS who won the Boys and Girls Cuman na mBunscoil finals on Saturday, a fantastic achievement. Best wishes to Sooey and Cloghogue as they participate in the Shield finals on Thursday.

The club were saddened to learn of the passing of former player and club member Kevin McDermott. Under-13

Our under-13 ‘C’ team play St John’s on Tuesday (June 3rd) in Cuilbeg. Throw in is at 7pm.

On Thursday night, our ‘A’ team take on St Mary’s in their league semi-final. Quigabar is the venue with throw in at 7pm.

The lads enjoyed a great preparation for the business end of the season with participation in the Clifford Cup last weekend where they recorded a win over Padraig Pearses (Roscommon) and played out a draw with Ballina Stephenites (Mayo) before losing to Corofin (Galway). Our under-11s play Shamrock Gaels on Tuesday evening (June 3rd) in Coola from 6.45pm. Our under-9s played the same opposition last week.

Shamrock Gaels Club notes Monday 2nd June clubnotes
The Senior Men's teams are back in action next weekend with the Div 4 team at home to Castleconnor on Friday at 7.30PM, the Div 1 team at home to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point on Saturday at 7.30PM and the Div 4 team away to St Johns on Sunday at 2.00PM. The Div 1 and Div 3 games are subject to change based on Sligo's game at the weekend.

The Healthy Club Commitee in conjunction with Bord Ná Nóg are holding a Nutrition Talk for all age groups in Riverstown Hall on Saturday June 14th at 5.30PM. The talk will be focused on nutrition for performance in sport with a talk from Una Donnelly, Dietician. All welcome.
The U16 girls lost to a strong Eastern Harps side last Monday.

The U14 girls lost to St Pats/St Farnans in the league semi-final last Thursday on a scoreline of 3-5 to 1-5. The team was Abbie McTiernan, Aimee Mullaney, Sinead Gilligan, Ciara Byrne, Neveah Cassidy, Eva Callaghan, Bronagh Conlon, Rebecca Garry (0-2), Ciara Scanlon (0-1), Savannah Cox, Alice Foley (0-1), Meabh Tonry (0-1), Kate Murrin (1-1), Amy Edwards, Kate Flaherty subs used Lauren Kearns Chapman, Kate Jinks and Keeva Clancy. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Savannah Cox who sustained an injury during the game.

The U13 boys won their final group game against Geevagh/St Michaels last Friday on a scoreline of 5-20 to 1-7. The team was: Conan Sweeney, Leo Bryne, Brian Merrick, Daire Flynn (1-0), Caelan Flynn, Niall Usher (0-6), Tommy Ryan, Dylan Leydon (0-1), Cillian Conboy, Michael  O'Connor, Darragh Quigley (2-5), Maverick Lyons (0-1), Euan Bergin (0-2), Alfie McTiernan, Frankie Willis, Daithi Scanlon (1-1), Kaden McCann (0-1), Andrew Henry (0-3). They now play Owenmore Gaels in the B Cup semi-final at home on Thursday at 6.30PM.

The U12 for girls played their final 2 group games last week against Drumcliffe/Rosses Point and St Mary's with great skills and scores on display.

The U11 boys play Enniscrone at home on Tuesday at 6.45PM.

Best wishes to Ardkeeran National School boys and girls who play in the Cuman Na mBunscoil final in Scarden on Saturday. 

The date for the annual Golf Classic has been set for July 26th in Castle Dargan - more details later.

The club wish to express sympathy with our underage coach Ciaran McGovern and the McGovern family and friends on the passing of his father Gerry McGovern, Cloone last week. Gerry was steeped in the GAA and held many senior positions down through the years with Leitrim and Connacht and his grandchildren Dara and Jack play on our U9 boys team. Ár Dhéis Dé go raibh a anam. The club also express sympathy with the family and friends of Fred Irwin, Ballymote and formerly of Castlebaldwin who died last week.

Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA Club notes Wednesday 28th May clubnotes

Adult

Our Intermediate team lost out to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point by 15 points to eight in the league last weekend. 

They will hope to regroup this week before an important away fixture against Curry on Friday week, with throw-in at 7.30pm. 

On the Division 4B front, our lads beat St Michael’s by 4-17 to 0-7 in Ballintogher last Friday. They play St John’s in their next fixture on the weekend after next. 

Minor 

Our minors have commenced preparations for the championship after their league final defeat last week. 

Under-15

Commiserations to our under-15s on their league semi-final defeat to Tubbercurry/Cloonacool last week. It finished 5-15 to 4-7. The lads will now turn their attention to the championship which begins later in the year. 

Under-13

Our under-13 ‘C’ team continued their great run of form with an impressive 6-12 to 3-7 defeat of St Pat’s last week. They play St John’s on Tuesday week in Cuilbeg. 

Our ‘A’ team enjoyed a comprehensive win over St Mary’s last Friday. Next up is an away fixture against Eastern Harps in Ballinafad this Friday night at 6pm.
