Shamrock Gaels Club notes Monday 11th March
We held our senior awards night in McDermott's, Castlebaldwin last Saturday where Noel Gallagher, Vice Chairperson of the County Board presented our Men's senior team with the 2023 Division 1 winners medals. Ciaran Kenny was presented with the Boyd memorial cup for Senior player of the year by Brian Boyd on behalf of the Boyd family. Bridie Connolly presented Aarron McKenna with the Intermediate Player of the year on behalf of the Connolly family while John Joe Connolly presented  Niall Henry with the Junior Player of the Year award on behalf of the Connolly family. The Devina Duncan memorial Cup for Ladies player was awarded to Louise Merrick with the award presented by Simone Moss to Sharon Merrick on behalf of Louise. Congratulations to all the winners.
We also formally inducted former Chairperson, Seamus Cawley into our Hall of Fame. Current Chairperson, Andy Kearns read the citation on the night and the full text can be seen in this weeks Sligo Champion and Weekender and will be posted on line shortly.
Well done to Gaels players who starred with various teams during the week. First up was Coola U17 Team winning the B all Ireland Soccer final with a strong representation of Gaels players, Jade Lyons won the Ladies HEC O'Connor Cup with DCU, Ruby Clark won the Moynihan Cup with ATU Sligo, while Sophia Rose Henry starred at full back in Sligo LGFA U16 team's win over Galway on Saturday - well done to all.

The winners of our monthly members draw were, Sean McHugh, €125, Cormac Kearns, €65, Paul Higgins, €40, Keith Candon €25 and Keith Mc Morrow €25.
Welcome to our new Club Development Officer, David Keely who joined us this week and will be working with the schools in the area along with assisting all our underage coaches for the season ahead.

Drumcliffe/Rosses Point Club notes Monday 19th February
This Saturday, Feb 24th, all our club coaches, from Saturday morning All-Stars to senior teams are invited to our Coaches 'Throw-in' morning, which will take place at Oxfield from 9:30am to 12pm. We encourage all club coaches to make every effort to attend as the session will be very beneficial for coaches planning and activity for the season ahead.  Please note the venue for this Saturday's coaches session, starting at 9:30am - it's Oxfield (not Rathcormac) .
We are looking for additional coaching help in hurling on Saturday mornings this year -as we want to give your younger players more opportunities to develop their hurling skills. If you would like to be part of this, please contact Austin on 0876855621.
A warm welcome to our new Club Development Officer, Michael Langan, who will be working with DRP on a number of local schools and club coaching activities during the 2024 season. Michael is a club member of our neighbours St Molaise Gaels. We will be 'sharing' him with Calry/St Joseph's this year. Welcome aboard Michael.
Well done to Eoghan Smith and Cian Lally who both started for Sligo in last Sunday's Division 3 league win over Limerick in Rathkeale. Sligo host Antrim this Sunday in Markievicz Park at 2pm.
Hard luck to Rianne Smith, Sinead Regan, Isabella Henry and the Sligo LGFA footballers who lost out to Roscommon in Keash on Sunday.
This Thursday's Club Lotto Jackpot now stands at €5,700. To be in with a chance of winning, play online via drp.gaa.ie. Last Thursday's numbers were:  3, 16,  25 & 27. Congrats to Peadar Power who won the €25 Lucky Dip prize.
A reminder that Club Membership for 2024 is now open via the GAA's onine Foireann system. You'll find the link to it on the club's website drp.gaa.ie/membership. Membership fees remain unchanged from 2023.
We encourage members to use their existing account profiles on Foireann. If you can't remember login details, use the 'Forgot Password' option. Please ensure when using Foireann that you register male players as GAA members - and female players as LGFA members.
Our Club Meeting for February takes place this Thursday (Feb 22nd) in Oxfield at 8:30pm sharp.

The final amount raised from our St Stephen's Goal mile walk was €1,439 with over €630,000 raised nationally which will go towards providing humanitarian and development programmes for people across the world facing the devasting impact of disease, climate change and conflict - thanks to all who contributed to this worthy cause.
We kick off our Couch to 5K this week in conjunction with Sligo Sports Partnership starting Wednesday 21st in Riverstown Park. The cost is €30 for 6 weeks. Please contact Marina Swann to register your interest.

We will be hosting a Couch to 5K in conjunction with Sligo Sports Partnership starting on Wednesday 21st February in Riverstown Park. The cost is €30 for 6 weeks and a registration night will be held tomorrow Monday 12th in Riverstown Park between 7.30PM and 8.30PM. As part of our Healthy Club initiatives, we have been successful in an application for a social initiative between the GAA and Specsavers to establish a connection between older and more vulnerable members of our community. Under this initiative, we plan to organise a trip to the Sligo NFL game against Antrim in Markievicz Park on Sunday 25th February. We plan to organise a bus, tickets and some refreshments on the day and it would be great if we could reach out to members of our community who would be interested in this trip - please contact Marina Swann on 086 8589048 if you know someone who may be interested.
