Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA Club notes Monday 28th April
Adult

Well done to our Intermediate footballers on their win over Coolera/Strandhill in the opening round of the league last weekend. 

Goals either side of the break from Eoin Tuffy and Oisin Finnerty helped our lads collect a 2-11 to 1-7 win at Quigabar. 

Next up is an away fixture against St Molaise Gaels this Saturday. Throw-in in Grange is at 6pm. 

It was also a good weekend for our Junior 'B' team, with the lads opening their Division 4B league campaign with a 3-15 to 3-13 defeat of Coolera/Strandhill. 

They have a break in action this week before a meeting with Castleconnor on the weekend after next. 


Minor 

Our minors put in another encouraging display to grind out a 1-12 to 1-11 victory over St John's in challenging conditions last week. 

The lads will look to continue their good form away to Geevagh/St Michael's on Tuesday (April 29th). Throw-in in Geevagh is at 7pm. 

Under-15

Our under-15s return to league action on Monday (April 28th) with an away match against Tubbercurry/Cloonacool. Throw-in in Cloonacool is at 7pm. 

Under-13

Our under-13s had another great week, with both teams picking up wins. 

The 'A' team beat Drumcliffe/Rosses Point by 7-14 to 4-4, while the 'C' team were 5-15 to 2-9 victors over St Farnan's. 

The 'C' team return to action against St Molaise Gaels in Grange on Tuesday (April 29th), while the 'A' team are at home to Coolera/Strandhill on Friday. 

Under-11/Under-9

Our under-9s and 11s have another game on Tuesday evening (April 29th) at home to St Farnan's.

Nursery programme

Thanks to everyone who made the start of our nursery programme such a big success last Saturday morning. Easter Camp

Our Easter Camp, held over two days at Quigabar last week, turned out to be a brilliant couple of days with 80 boys and girls in attendance.

Shamrock Gaels Club notes Monday 28th April
Our annual 50/50 Charity draw takes place tomorrow Monday 28th with this year's chosen charity, North West Hospice. Last year we raised €1,470 and it would be great to match and exceed that number. Get your ticket now before the cut off time of 6PM Monday on www.lottoraiser.ie/shamrockgaels/ 

The club wish to extend best wishes to Sergeant Terese Duignan who retired last week after 18 years service in Riverstown and thank her for all the support to the Club over her time in Riverstown. It was a great weekend on the football field with all four adult teams winning. First up was our Division 3 team who had a 1-18 to 1-13 win over St Marys on Friday evening. The team was: Sean Kelly, Aaron Coleman, Declan Willis, Mikey Barry, Conor Kearns (0-1), Paul Brennan, Gavin McMorrow, George Barlow, David Barlow, Brendan Hailstones (0-1), Conor McMorrow (0-5), James Carroll (0-3), Niall Kenny (1-4), Darragh Hailstones (0-1), James Foley (0-3). Subs used: Dylan Willis, Patrick Kenny, Jack Brehony. They now play Castleconnor away on Friday at 7.30PM.

Next up were our Senior ladies who got their first win of the league campaign over Coolera/Strandhill on a scoreline 3-10 to 1-7. The team was: Kate Brehony, Eilis O'Connor, Amy Healy, Leanne Galvin, Jade Lyons (1-4), Louise Merrick, Naomh Quinn, Ceili Faughnan (0-1), Ciara Gilligan, Nola Eivers (0-1), Orla Devaney, Hannah Willis, Rachel Boyd, Orlaith Scanlon (2-2), Emma Rainey (0-1). subs used Jane Benson (0-1), Aoibhinn Conlon, Aaleasha Sweeney, Katie Gilligan and Ava Lyons. They now play St Pat's/St Farnans away on Sunday at 10.30PM.

The Div 4 men's team had a good 1-14 to 2-6 win over St Michaels on Sunday morning. The team was: Eoin McDermott, Gavin McMorrow (0-2), Shane McCann, Alan Kelly (0-1), Keith McMorrow (0-2), Charles Daigne, Adrian McCann, Adam Kearns, Frank Quinn (0-2), Keith Candon (0-4), Paul Ryan (0-1). Sub used: Diarmuid Jinks. Their next game is away to Coolera/Strandhill on Friday 9th May at 7.30PM.

Our Div 1 team gave an impressive performance in the first round of the league with a 2-17 to 2-12 win over St Marys at home. The Gaels dominated throughout and were ten points up going into the final quarter but playing into a very strong wind left conditions difficult in the closing stages with Mary's capitalising and closing the gap but the Gaels held on to earn a deserved win. They now play Coolera/Strandhill away next Saturday at 6.00PM.

The U18 boys lost 3-7 to 5-5 to Easkey/St Farnans in difficult conditions last Tuesday. The team was: Eli Rogers, Diarmuid Feely, Joseph O’Connor, Clive Barlow, Conor Feeney, Daniel Kearns, Tadhg Kenny, Miceal Garry, Jack Brehony, Eoin Feeney, Fionnan Duffy, Rian Conway, Charlie King, Josh McTiernan, Troy Kelly, subs Alan Og Henry and Dylan McMorrow. They now play Castleconnor away on Tuesday at 6.30PM.

The U18 girls play the league cup semi-final on Thursday at 6.30PM away to St Molaise Gaels.

The U16 girls play Eoghan Rua in the first game of the league at home on Monday at 7.30PM.

The U15 boys lost to Curry last Monday. The U14 Division 3 girls had a good 4-12 to 2-4 win over St John's 2 last Wednesday. The team was: Abbie McTiernan, Ciara Byrne, Sinead Gilligan, Neveah Cassidy, Aimee Mullaney, Eva Callaghan, Lauren Orr, Rebecca Garry (0-2), Ciara Scanlon (0-5), Amy Edwards (0-2), Alice Foley (1-0), Meabh Tonry (0-1), Kate Flaherty (3-2), Savannah Cox, Kate Murrin subs used: Lauren Kearns Chapman. The girls play their final group game against Geevagh/St Michael's away on Wednesday 7th May.

The U14 Division 4 team suffered their first defeat in a very entertaining high scoring encounter last Friday evening on a scoreline of 5-15 to 6-4. The team was: Shauna McTiernan, Clodagh Galvin, Ciara Byrne, Lauren Orr, Aimee Mullaney, Bronagh Conlon, Lexi Mullaney, Savannah Cox, Sarah Jayne Scanlon, Lauren Kearns Chapman, Kate Jinks, Amy Edwards, Aoife O' Connor, Kate Murrin and Victoria Barlow sub used Aoife Garry. The Division 4 team play their final group game on Friday 16th May against St Molaise Gaels.

The U13 boys lost to Tubbercurry/Cloonacool last Friday. The team was: Conan Sweeney, Leo Byrne, Cillian Conboy, Kian Burns, Caelan Flynn, Brian Merrick, Tommy Ryan, Ben Caliendo, Kaden McGann, Andrew Henry, Maverick Lyons, Micheál O’Connor, Daithi Scanlon (1-0), Alfie McTiernan, Dáire Flynn, and Frankie Willis (1-0). They now play Coolaney/Mullinabreena at home on Friday at 6.30PM.

The U12 girls play St John's 2 in Riverstown Park on Friday at 7.30PM.

The U11 girls had a very enjoyable game against St Molaise Gaels in the first round of their go-games last Monday. The team was: Croiaidh Maguire, Ciara Ryan, Aoife Quigley, Anna McMahon, Nicole McMorrow, Rachel Gillogley, Aimee McMorrow, Lilly Ryan, Robyn Henry, Emily Jinks and Catherine Conlon. They have a busy week coming with games against Coolera/Strandhill on Tuesday at 6.30PM  and then Ballymote on Friday at 6.30PM both in Riverstown Park.

The U11 boys play Curry away on Tuesday at 7.00PM while the U9 boys play host to Curry at home on Wednesday at 7.00PM.

Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA Club notes Monday 21st April
Easter Camp

The club will be holding its popular Easter camp this week, with the camp being held over two days on Wednesday April 23rd and Thursday April 24th from 10am to 2pm on both days. The camp is open to boys and girls from ages five to 13, with registration on day one from 9.30am at Quigabar.

For more information, contact JP Carden on 087 291 9404. The coaching will be provided by club and county coaches.

Adult

The club will make its long-awaited return to Division One football on Saturday evening next, when Coolera/Strandhill are the visitors to Quigabar in the opening round. Throw-in is at 6pm and all support would be welcome.

The night before, our Junior ‘B’ footballers get their Division 4B campaign up and running against the same oppiosition in Quigabar. That one gets underway at half seven.

Minor 

Our minors put in a great display to beat St Pats/Owenmore Gaels by 6-10 to 6-7 in Collooney last week.

On Tuesday evening (April 22nd) they face St John’s in Quigabar from 7pm.

Under-15

Our under-15s scored an impressive 7-13 to 5-10 win over Ballymote/Bunninadden in the league last week. The lads have a break in competitive action now until next week.

Under-13

Our under-13 ‘C’ team produced an outstanding performance to beat Ballymote/Bunninadden last week. Next up is a home fixture against St Farnan’s on Tuesday, April 22nd at 6pm.

Our under-13 ‘A’ team resume their league campaign on Friday away to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point from half six.

Under-11/Under-9

Well done to our under-11 and under-9 footballers on their efforts against Easkey last week. Both sets of players put on a superb night of action.

In a closely contested first half with only two points separating the sides at half time, the girls came out in the second half and scored 3-4 without reply seeing them finish comfortable winners on a scoreline 5-12 to 3-2. Our U9 and U11 boys had their first outings of 2025 with some very entertaining games against Eastern Harps last week. The U9 boys host Ballymote this Wednesday at home at 7.00PM.

The club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Bridie Fallon, Coolbock who died last week and we also express sympathy with Ciaran Byrne on the passing last week of his father Tom, Rochestown, Cork.

Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA Club notes Monday 14th April
Spring League

Our Intermediate footballers are through to the Senior Spring League final following last weekend’s 1-12 apiece draw with Shamrock Gaels at Quigabar. 

The final will take place on the weekend of May 10th and 11th. 

In the meantime, our lads attention will turn to the start of their Division One league campaign, which begins with a home fixture against Coolera/Strandhill on Saturday week (April 26th) at 6pm. 

Our Junior ‘B’ team begin their Division 4B campaign the night before against the same opposition. 

Minor

Hard luck to our minor footballers on their loss to Curry at Quigabar last weekend. It finished 2-9 to 2-7 in favour of the visitors on Saturday evening. Our lads face a quick turnaround with an away match against St Pat’s/Owenmore Gaels on Tuesday evening (April 15th) in Collooney. Throw in is at 6.30pm. 

Under-15

Our under-15s produced a great display to beat St Molause Gaels in Grange last Monday, winning by a single point on a 4-13 to 6-6 scoreline. They were due to be back in action on Monday (April 14th) with a home match against Ballymote/Bunninadden. Throw in is at 7pm. 

Under-13

Our under-13 ‘’C’ team put in another superb display to beat Coolera/Strandhill in Ransboro last Tuesday night, winning by 4-17 to 4-14. Our lads have a home match against Ballymote/Bunninadden on Tuesday night (April 15th), with throw in at half six. 

Under-9s

Our under-9s had a great run out last week with matches against Castleconnor in Corballa on Wednesday. This week, our teams will host Easkey on Wednesday.

The Sligo under-20s had a great win over Leitrim on Wednesday night last to secure a semi-final spot (at least) in the Connacht Championship. Well done to Ethan, Tommy, Eoin and Greg. Good luck to everyone involved in this Wednesday's meeting with Mayo at Markievicz Park, with Sligo in the hunt for a spot in the final. 

Blotto

Congrats to Cathy Sheridan (Fox) on winning the blotto draw last weekend. Cathy took the jackpot of €4800. Next week’s draw in the Pilot Bar will be for a jackpot of €3000. Thanks to all players for the continued support. 

Sympathy

The club extends its sympathies to Mattie and the Coleman and Healy families on the death of Mattie’s sister, Eileen Healy, last week. 

The club also extends its sympathies to the Conmy family on the recent passing of Gerry Conmy, who was a member of the Enniscrone/Kilglass Junior Championship winning team in 1966.

Drumcliffe/Rosses Point Club notes Monday 14th April
The DRP Walkathon takes place this Easter Weekend at Oxfield, from 4pm on Good Friday to 4pm on Easter Saturday. 24 groups of walkers will each walk for an hour of the 24-hour walkathon period. The event is the club's big fundraiser of the year - and is also raising money for the Friends of Sligo University Hospital's Stroke Unit. To tie-in with our Walkathon this weekend, Our Saturday morning All-Stars coaching sessions for all age groups move to Oxfield (from Rathcormac) at the usual times.

Our senior men's footballers received a walkover from Coolera/Strandhill in the Senior Spring League at the weekend. However, Enniscrone have finished top of our group - they progress to the knockout stages of the competition.

The draws for the men's Homeland Senior Football Championship was made last Thursday night. DRP have again been drawn in Group 2 along with St Molaise Gaels, St Mary's, Tourlestrane and Tubbercurry. The championship is scheduled to begin on the weekend of Aug 3rd.

Our senior women's footballers have made it two wins from two in the Connacht Gold Division 1 league following Sunday's 2-13 to 1-15 win over Tourlestrane. The team's next game is away to St Nathy's in two week's time.

Our junior women's team lost out to CT Gaels in Division 4 by 3-16 to 2-8. 

Well done to Paul O'Brien (0-4), Thomas O'Brien and the Sligo senior hurlers who won their opening Nickey Rackard Cup game against Louth at Markievicz Park last Saturday.

Good luck to the Sligo U20 footballers who play Mayo this Wednesday evening at Markievicz Park in their final group game. Win or lose, Sligo are already assured of a place in the championship play-offs.

Last week’s DRP Club Lotto numbers were: 6, 15, 19, 26. No Jackpot or Match 3 winner this week. Congrats to €25 Lucky Dip winner, John Deacy. This Thursday's Jackpot still stands at €7000. To enter, visit drp.gaa.ie.
