St. Patricks Club notes Monday 22nd April

Fixtures and Results

The u13 boys had their first outing on Monday night, the 15th April, to St John's. Both sides produced outstanding football in what can only be described as rough weather conditions in Seamie Donegan Park. Playing with a strong breeze in their back in the 1st quarter, the Pat's lads quickly built a strong lead. From the 2nd quarter on, St John's clawed their way back into the game and held a slender lead going into the final quarter. The boys rallied with 5 minutes to go and finished strong with 3 points to spare at the end. It finished up St Pat's 4-9 St John's 4-6.

U15 boys took on Castleconnor last Tuesday and came out on top with a great final score of 6-9 to 3-6.

U18 boys played away in Hazelwood Thursday night but unfortunately it was not their night against the strong Calry side.

U14 and U12 girls games were postponed this week due to poor pitch conditions following the recent weather.

The ladies team played away to Calry on a very sunny Sunday morning. Our ladies battled on and didn't give up however Calry proved too strong and came out the deserved winners.

Our Senior men were more fortunate in the still very sunny afternoon putting on a great display in Cloonacool with a well worked goal in the last few minutes solidifying their win. Final score 1-14 to 1-9

Congratulations

Well done to Danny Woodrow on the Sligo U17 team who had a lovely one point win over Leitrim on Friday evening.

Well done to Canice who once again was in the starting line out for Sligo who narrowly lost out to Galway in Markevich in the Connacht semi final on Saturday.

Well done to Caomhóg McManus who is part of the Sligo All Star basketball team who played in the All Ireland Club Championship, they had a number of games over the weekend and managed to reach the Quarter Finals on Sunday.

This lively game swung in our lads favour with second half points from Oisin, Dara and Eamonn to put them in the lead.
